3rd Annual PSO Convention Jan 2005 - Invitation & Schedule
The PSO convention has proven to be a fantastic time for members to meet in real life and sit down together at a real brick & mortar casino. If you've never been to a live tournament event before, this is a great way to get your feet wet for the first time. You'll find you have all the support you need to becoming live tournament savvy. We invite all members of PSO to attend, learn and enjoy themselves.
Held at the WPO, one of the largest tournaments in the world, you're sure to see and probably meet many of the professionals who've come to enhance their yearly income. For PSO members, special tournaments, seminars and social events have been planned to bring members together and give you a poker experience you will never forget.

What Happens at the PSO Convention?
A PSO member, danwin, asked an excellent question in the PokerSchoolOnline forum, "What happens at the PSO Convention?"
NewJane, a PSO convention veteran, was quick to answer.

Now, with that said, here is a little capsule of what you can expect:
Mark, Tina, and Sharla have outlined a SUPER day full of fun, frolic, and some actual "poker content" that any PSO member will NOT want to miss. This is on Monday, January 10. It will start at about 2, where we will get a chance to meet each other, get name tags, and a bag of AWESOME PSO goodies. I got mine on the cruise, and let me tell you the PSO COIN IS WORTH THE TRIP TO TUNICA.
THEN, after we all glad hand each other, hug, take pictures, we will re-convene in the meeting room there and Mark and Tina will start with introductory remarks, and introduce various speakers. I do not have all those listed in front of me, but they are listed on the Forum somewhere. I think Barry Tannenbaum is going to do some interactive poker instruction, AL SPATH is going to make a presentation, and HOPEFULLY a super panel made up of PSO members answering questions, etc. Count on a very informative, FUN afternoon/evening.
NOW, interspersed in the speakers will be raffle drawings. When you get your name tag and bag of goodies, Sharla and I will be handing out raffle tickets. During the afternoon, we will have drawings, and give out some poker stuff. I have put together a box full of fun poker things that some lucky PSO members will be winning!
THEN, I imagine we will be treated to a fine meal, and perhaps some music. Now, let me say I have NEVER seen or heard of a PSO member dancing, but I would not turn down an offer if someone asked me to dance In fact, I may bring along a dance card and have guys sign it early, I certainly don't want to disappoint anyone!
About the PSO event on the 11th. This is an AWESOME No Limit Hold'em event that the Goldstrike/Horseshoe puts on just for US. They use their dealers and tourney directors, the buy in is $100+25, and I think it will be limited to 200 members. Last year, we had 112 entrants, so this year, expect it to sell out. (There are NO satellites for THIS event, but there are Satellites going on round the clock for the World Poker Open that is going on in Tunica.) Sign up for the PSO event will probably start right before the event starts, which I think is 8 a.m.
Also, the Horseshoe/Goldstrike poker rooms will be jampacked with good affordable ring games. PSO members will be visible and having a blast.
Many PSO members will take part in the World Poker Open event on the 9th, which is the FIRST event of the 2005 LIVE TOUR EVENT on PSO. It is $500 buy in with rebuys, but expect to see a large number of PSO members in this event. There will be satellites run by the casino for this event. Other than PSO members taking part, PSO is not running this event. It is strictly run by the WORLD POKER OPEN officials.
I can assure you of one thing: YOU WILL HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME. You will meet dozens of PSO members who are also having a wonderful time.
If I can be of any other help, just let me know.
