PSO Community
PokerSchoolOnline is an internet community unlike anything on the net. Members quickly assimilate into the forums, are active with chat screens at the tables, and have access to their own blog area. Through the use of available PSO messaging systems (private messaging and emails), members become more involved and are able to discuss the inner workings of the school, while seeking help and building friendships with other members. They participate in polls, surveys, and offer site suggestions directly to management and to our technical team, and join specific poker study groups. The interaction, support, feedback and involvement shown by our members are infectious, and lead to long lasting connections and poker relationships not ordinarily observed online. Leagues, championship tournaments, ring table play and special events are highly promoted, consistently supported and enjoyed by many.
The pride associated with personal poker accomplishment is celebrated at PSO, through awards of sponsorship points, banners, or other forms of recognition. Players compete hard, but are ever mindful that PSO is a school, with new members joining daily. This is where our current members are quick to commit themselves to helping new players by offering assistance to potential fellow competitors. It could be to explain some aspect of the competition or to point out the best way to proceed in utilizing the vast amount of tutorials and instructional materials available. Additionally, some advanced players will voluntarily "ghost" members, and provide instant analysis and feedback concerning their play.
Instruction in the card room by poker professionals and highly qualified PSO staff is a key component that ties the self-paced, interactive learning obtained from videos, audio segments, quizzes and other content available to all members. In addition, advanced players may seek and secure "personal" instruction session from expert instructors. Mentor courses are also available where up to 30 members will begin and complete an intensive 4 week course designed to improve their poker skills dramatically and to foster relationships within the school. Mentor courses are calendared throughout the entire year, with new topics focusing on a varied menu of specialties (No Limit, Limit, High Low games, etc.). Our instructors have designed course materials in modules so that new members can enter the basic to intermediate course, or if experienced, apply to register for the second module in a series.
Bounty tournaments against professional poker legend TJ Cloutier, PokerNiteLive events against other professional poker players and member loyalty events (that culminate with a heads up match against TJ in Vegas), spark more community interaction and commitment to becoming a poker champion.
