COMMUNITY NEWS - February 2013

Just in case you hadn't noticed, February is upon us! The name of this month derives from a Latin word for purification, so what better time to take a look at your poker-playing style and resolve to identify and fix any costly leaks? That is what we call purification PSO-style, and PSO is where you will find all the resources to help you do just that! And so here we go with this months highlights:

1. THE 'BIG BANG' EXPLODES!

How would you like to play in free-to-enter, guaranteed $5,000 prizepool tourney once a month, restricted to PokerStars poker school players? Well starting this month you can, and to qualify you just need to place in the TOP 400 of three Open League tournaments in a row during any month. Achieving that will grant you a ticket to the following months 'Big Bang' tournament, with $5,000 in cash to play for - check it out now!

2. WHAT DOES THE PSO PROFESSOR HAVE TO SAY?

Brand new to PSO, we are pleased to welcome our very own official Professor!

You don't want to miss his well-chosen words of wisdom so why not drop in to read his very first blog entries, or better still why not subscribe using the button on any of his blog posts? That way you won't miss any of his upcoming weekly "Play My Hand" posts! You'll find the Prof right here.

3. AND WHAT'S HOT IN LIVE TRAINING THIS MONTH?

Saturday coaching in January was well received so as we said last month, if you the members are lapping it up then we'll continue to bring it for you.

Starting this month the Poker Basics Series and Daily Game will be scaled back to twice a week. These sessions will be running on Wednesdays at 20:00 ET and Saturdays at 15:00 ET. Regular Live Training Sessions on Saturdays will continue, TheLangolier will be hosting them around the new Saturday Poker Basics/Daily Game schedule, running at 14:00 ET on the 2nd and 16th, and  17:00 ET on the 9th and 23rd. We're not sure which of these time slots will be preferable for members, or if a mix of both before and after the Daily Game is good, and so we will be watching attendance to try and gain more insight to that end.

PS Team Online Pro Tyler "frosty012" Frost will be with us on Sunday the 10th February at 14:00 ET to share his full ring cash game knowledge with us… be sure not to miss out on live training from a PS Red Spade!

You'll find all details of Live Training here! Remember, there is no cost to attend these trainings, they are all free, brought to you by PSO and PokerStars…  and anyone can attend all live trainings, even the VPP restricted ones will allow all PSO members into the room as a viewer… the VPP restriction only impacts the ability to type in the chat box but all members can see and hear everything regardless of their VPP level. See you in class!

So to wind up, with all these "poker-purification" resources and more at your disposal, we wish you a busy, happy and productive month in PSO!
