My First Blog, Ever.

First of all, I want to say thank you to all the people who have made online poker enjoyable for me again. I have had so much more enjoyment from it since the pso began! The players that I have met are so encouraging and helpful. There are so many I could mention by name. Let's just say that if I have met you and interacted with you, I thank you! I would give just one special shout out to the group in Cowboy's Corral, the Suited Aces, and all who participate in ventrillo. These folks have actually become a part of my life that I look forward to each day. When is the last time you could say that about a bunch of strangers? There is much appreciation to the pso and it's players for their generous spirits.
I want to try to keep these short to hopefully provide some insight and entertainment value, while not boring you to sleep. (I have a tendency to ramble on.) I will go into my poker beginnings in the next blog, but will conclude here with just a short intro. I have a wonderful wife, Linda, who helped to change my world. A few years ago I honestly started feeling I would never be given the gift of marriage or children. I am 42 and never married before or had children. Last year we were blessed with our lil' man Sammy! And yes, he is the cutest baby ever. ;) I will ask Linda to help me load a pic in here of him since she is actually the savy geek in the family. Linda and I met singing karaoke in a place I used to frequent a lot. We still like to go once in a blue moon if we can.
I grew up in the Michiana area (northern Indiana, southern Michigan) and that is why I am a huge Notre Dame and Chicago sports fan. After a somewhat rough start to life, I moved to Florida to finish high school and have been here the rest of my life except for a few years in Greenville, NC. This is where I started singing karaoke. A friend of mine, who plays guitar, used to jam w/ me (on drums) at my house. He thought I might enjoy it because I would sing when we played together. I loved it. Let's just say that if you're decent..karaoke will get ya a few free beers. ;) But more importantly, this is where I began to play poker...G Vegas baby ...That is a nickname somewhat to Greenville and it's appropriate to me. As I said this is where my poker beginnings take place. And that is where my next blog will begin. Until then, best o' luck all!
