Crazy Normal Weekend, as always

FINALLY, THE INTERNET HAS ARRIVED! I was like a caveman when this was 1st installed. Online Poker has never been better! I also downloaded "wolf on wall street" immediately and just wanna say to martin scorsese - "you are a genius sir!".

OKayyyyyyyy.... Back to poker boys .... Anyway, after getting excited about the installation. I quickly played and lost $40. I said to myself "maybe i'm tired, I'll sleep the bad beat off". Then After I woke up and played again for 6 hours, after a few games. I was up by $6. What a pathetic session LOL. So when I was with my usual sundate with my GF, we were in the flea market and since chinese new year is near(I have chinese blood , but pure pinoy in heart))- They were selling these Horse figurines(Year of the horse this yr, in case you're wondering). I was thinking all day that the new internet connection must be the jinx of all my bad beats(seriously, Quads on the river??!!? LOL), and then I was actually considering buying a freaking horse to put my desk to counter the bad luck. But then, I stopped myself. I thought that the reason I play poker is because I believe in reasoning, logic and math. yes, there is luck.Good or Bad, We can't control that. But I believe that the edge of skilled poker players is that they can maximize the value of their luck and can sometimes get out when they are unlucky. So I didn't buy any feng shui stuff and prepared myself for a long session. I slept.  I have no work on monday. It's time to grind!!

Monday night,  I was down to $54. Everything was going downhill. Then it came to me why I was losing. well at least part of it. What happened is that someone texted me around saturday night asking if I can sell some PS USD. If you read my last post, I have achieved my poker goal in january and I was happy about that becuase I accomplished it earlier than expected. But some extra cash wouldn't hurt. I was on the pressure again to grind and have to win. I was getting greedy again. Greed can sometimes be good, but mostly it will hurt you. Instead of thinking about buildinga bankroll for $15 SNG, I was playing to cash out. It had some weight of my plays. Then Here comes the arty part......

Reading an article in PSO and learning from arty.

After reading his Monetary blog, here's what I learned and applied.

Poker achievements cannot be measured very accurately, because of the luck factor
Variance in poker can be a lot wilder than most players realize
focus on making good decisions, and the money will look after itself.

BOOOM! that's it. just continue to put your chips when you have the best of it, on your own standard, doesn't have to be the nuts. If I do this over and over, I will win in the long term, a somewhat .000011237218631872 edge. LOL( the numbers are BS by the way hahaha). So I stick to my style and won 2 18 player games and some 1 table SNG. I was back to where I was, at $130. Then after that I was so confident I tried to play the $15, I lost twice and I was back to earth LOL what a fuuny and stupid thing to do hahaha. I am not ready yet for that level. Players there were better than me. I need to be stable at $7 1st before I think I can move up. Hopefully. I don't want to target any deadline and pressure myself, something I also learn from arty's blog. Poker should be as relaxing as possible.

Poker Hypocrite

I always tell myself that I will never,EVER, play turbo again because I believe that the luck factor is greater than the normal game as the blinds go up really fast, you just end up grinding yourself. After being bored with 2 tables, I added a new table. 1st time for me to play 3 tables as I am used to play only 1 when I'm at work. Actually, I'm really comfortable playing 1 table. But what I do is that the stake should somewhat matter to me. So that my live and OL play is synchronized. So I added a "turbo" table. an $8 180 players SNG turbo. I liked it! the way you change gears and the value of cards goes so fast. I was entertained and made it to the money. I think I'll try some of it. Good advertisement of TCOOP by PS. It got me.

Paalam muna sa ngayon.
