Adventures of $irUlrich

my so called "poker career" :) this is my story.
Send PM

what's up workaholics? The holiday hasn't been kind to me on live games but it did some tricks here in stars. Well, what actually happened was I visited this new poker club called "King of Sports" (whatta name for a poker club LOL), I got a tip from a friend that the place in not crowded with sharks, unlike in metrocard wherein there are 3 regular grinders in each table and everyone knows everyone so soft play is the name of the game. Everybody is just having a good time, the fishes/newbies is giving the grinders a way of living, which in the eco-sytem, That is what's supposed to happen (sharks eat the little, tiny fishes with no hesitation or mercy! haha). Well my friend was right. There were not a lot of grinders. My aces and kings got cracked because players there are buying gut shots like they are buying a flush draw.. about bad beat, I also made some stupid plays like trying to bluff a guy who has a boat(of course he's not gonna fold! lol). So that's how I lose Php3K playing 10-20- I went for 3 buy ins at Php1k each - I'm aware that the "recommended" is 200BB, but I didn't plan on losing 3K!!! hahaha. I had this vision since that my GF is going to her province for the holidays to visit her folks and that I will play more live since I have plenty of time to be a "folder". So now what?!?!!?

To Plan B

I have around $39 left and pending PHp1k Cash for the $28USD that I sold(if you read my last post), so technically I need to catch up to Php2K more, meaning I need to be up by $50 for me to break even(if you're wondering, the conversion is $1 = Php40), at least. So what I did is I still played the $7 SNG- talk about hard headed man! haha... despite my mini bankroll. There is a logic why I did it. I will not catch up if I played $3.50.So i was ready to GO BIG OR GO BROKE! The mental preparation that I set before I played is that I will play whatever the situation ask me to do. If the situation needs me to bluff all my chips with air if that is the only bet that will convince my opponent to fold, I have to do it. I have to trust my read, that's no.1.   No. 2- If I shoved with the best hand and got outdrawn which happens a lot, I will not whine or bang the mouse and put a finger on my opponent's logo LOL. I will accept it and move on and will play the next hand with logic and not tilt. I sitted out a few hands when I'm tilt. 3rd and last- stay humble in victory or defeat. if you stacked your opponent and he did the same to you. That's poker and nothing is personal on the poker table.

So what is the result of this new found disipline? I crossed over again in the $100+ mark for the nth time( with 3 solid sessions I pumped it up to $14 and sold $28 again to my friend which brings me at least Php2k even. I hope I can stay at $7 stake and move up to $15 soon. Until next time.

Paalam muna sa ngayon.
