FTP Sneaky Savings - $65

Slow and Boring(So I thought) Feb

I didn't write for quite a while because there was nothing to write about my poker life. I was just cruising along $115 - $56. It was quite exhausting honestly, to play everyday and not get the results that you want. The pressure is getting to me as I need to cover my "poker expenses" for this month and wants to stay at $7. but with the bankroll that I have, I can't afford to sell any USD yet. I've been floating aroung 10 buy ins, every time I have less than $50 left- What I do is I get funds from my Sneaky savings account to cover 10 buy ins so that it won't mess with the way I play (psychological effect). I was in search of an answer. Then like the clouds opened in the Sky with the sun shining bright, a book spoke to me. I was studying again and I liked it.

Who the hell is Dusty Schmidt?!?!?!

I've heard of great OL players like dwan, galfond, blom, etc but never Schmidt. I downloaded a bunch of poker books online and was selecting from a 2 GB file folder which book to read, then a title got my attention. - "Treat your POKER like a BUSINESS" , - hmmmmmmm, this sounds interesting. And from Matt bolt's foreword on, I was hooked! This guy's a genius! What I do is I read about 3-5 chapters a day at work while playing 1 table. This is where I realize I need to play more tables, I need to calculate my $/hr, have better work and study ethics, concentrate on 1 kind of game(one trick pony), etc. I am really learning a lot from him especially about Variance. He also advices that we should only look at the Cashier at the end of the month to avoid pressure when playing. This is 1 advice I intend to follow but can't. I seem to look at the cashier after every game I played. I'll try my best to do this Dusty and will finish the book soon(actually, I plan to read the book twice ), LOL. He earned $3M in a year and achieved SuperNOva Elite in 8 mons. This guy's a F____g SHARK! I want to be like him

Tired and Weary Poker Soldier

Yesterday was so brutal for me. When I came in from work, I was in my usual "grind" mood. So I played. and lose all day long. It was kind of a crazy day. I was all in with AK, someone called with AJ, the a J on the flop will come, Pair vs Pair, guess what? he flopped a set. That kind of crap really wears me off and you start to question if this is really a "luck" game. I made a lot of bad decisions as well along the way so technically, There is always a glitch in anyone's game. So before I went home. I played 1 more 12 players $7 SNG. 1st hand, . I went all in on an UTG raiser, My aces held up. Then I felt good again and start to play logically. I won the tournament and I think I was up by $1 by the end of the session. I even borrowed money from my FTP account and trade my 1K FPPs for $10 to stay afloat 10 buy ins yesterday. After I went home, I played a $1.5K GTD 6 max 500 cap ($8.80 buy in). I play this kind of tournament, even the daily 4k turbo 6max(11pm EST) at least 4-7 times a week. I have to say I have average results with this kind of tourney. I made it to the money a few times and it really frustrates me whenever I get bust out because of the time I spent playing that tourney which if I played a regular SNG, I would earn more if I made it to HU. the closest I got is 13th place with this kind of format. Yesterday was sort of my mini break - I made the final table(yes!!!), I guess i was lucky enough(good variance) to win flips and sometimes outdraws my opponent. All the beats that I had that day have been reversed to good luck. My pockets help up most of the time during all in situations. I placed in 4th and part of that solved my problem paying my poker expenses. I'm covered for this month, Thanks to PS again and I hope PS will sponsor my next vacation hahaha. It was really a roller coaster day for me but I enjoyed the ride.
