my so called "poker career" :) this is my story.

Pokerstars - $145 - $35 transfer cash out = $110

Full tilt - $59.10

What??!?!? you opened an FTP account??!?!?!

Sneaky Savings

Nope! That is my old full tilt account. I used to play at FTP back in 2009 until they closed down ( and i am fully aware why they call that site FULL TILT! LOL) and that's the reason why I stopped playing online and started playing more live poker. It is not that I am not aware that PS exist, of course I am aware of this site hahaha. It's just that I don't have the time to play OL anymore, I was focused on other stuff. Live cash game and tourneys gave me weekly joy and disappointments. Anyway, the reson why I reopened and linked both accounts is because I plan to use my FTP account as my "savings" or back up. I will also transfer the funds that needs to be sold every month to cover my "poker expenses". This is the lesson I've learned during my second deposit - Always have a plan B. you'll never know when the sh*t hits the fan LOL.

Applying discipline tight play and learning to fold

When you have and the board comes , it is a dreadful sight right? knowing that someone has called your 3 bet. I remeber David Sklansky saying in his book "Hold'em for advanced players" that we should turn that ace into and proceed. It has worked for me in the past but there are times that our opponent really has an ace. Here's what I've learned in this kind of situations: the game is evolving really fast. There are no fish anymore. all players are improving very fast and so should we. We need to adjust to every game to every player in every situation. I still commit the same mistakes in every session but I can see myself improving by folding and forcing myself to bet if the situation needs it(I am sometimes scared to bet especially during bubble time in a 6 max game but watching joe hachem's show "the pokerstar" with the episode "courage" did the trick for me) and Someone is PSO inspired me- I just read this in the forum, so whoever you are- Thanks. it says "luck is  thing you force to happen by training hard" - this has inspired me to play more games and be more patient.

Staking a Poker dealer

The center of live poker here in my country is at Metrocard Club. One night, I was playing a cash game when a friendly dealer joke about a player saying that she sensed it was a weak bet made by the player - commenting that it was obvious that the player is controlling the betting because he was on a flush draw. I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING! I said to her "galing mo ha(you're good). stake nga kita sa(let me stake you) pokerstars!" - she was excited about the idea because dealers here are not allowed to play any live game within the country as there is a law here about that. Anyway, It ws last december wherein I had a bad month. So I sent her a message that I can't this month but will soon if I ran good. I advised her to start at 6 max SNG $1.50 and grind from there. I sent her $10 yesterday. I hope she wins. its a 50-50 kind of deal and she said she will help me sell PS USD in metro. so a win-win for both of us .

Running Good? or Playing the cards the right way?

I was down to $23 and I was still playing my favorite game, $7 6max SNG. I was at $70 when a series of bad beat happened ( around 70% of the time I put all my chips in with the best hand and gets ridiculous turns and rivers) with my opponent having an 2-5 outer chance plus doing some occassional shove bluffing myself. I got burned and was down to $23. During my last post - I should go back to $3.50 with this kind of pathetic bankroll. But I took a last gamble, I said to myself - "one more $7 and I'll play $3.50 if I lose." - I joined an 18 player 6 max and I won. It gave me a breathing room of $62 meaning 8 more $7 sng entries and it went well from there. I was able to score another 1st on same format and on a 12 player game. Then I was putting money to my FTP account after every session. I still lose of course. No one is immune to that.

I hope to climb up to $15 on Febuary. It is still early for january and I will be selling $50 to cover poker expenses(credit card bill just arrived this week). We are good for this month boys! Thanks PS!
