Boy, am I running bad..... (The Downswing Plan)

This is the part of poker which I think every player hates. The fear of going broke just when you thought you had it all figured out. On my last blog, I pondered around an upswing goal. Now, It's time to visit hell. The downside plan. As of now, I am playing my last $15 SNG. If I lose this one, I will be stepping down to $7 again and will get some money from FTP savings to cover at least 20 buy ins. It was a business decision to stake up because I want to sell more USDs. But my plan backfired at me. I lasted only a month on this stake and Sadly, Yes... I am disappointed with the way I played some hands. There were some situations I can't control but I think it all comes down to the decisions that we make at the table. I wasn't tight enough pre flop so I had harder decisons post flop, I wasn't solid enough to bet my best hand(slow playing/trapping) and I wasn't aggressive enough to bet a marginal hand which I think is the best hand, so I got outdrawn a lot of times. I was more outplayed than unlucky. There's nothing more to it. I will be cancelling my upswing goal as well as It puts pressure on me and the way I play.

Player Scarcity

I am the type of OL player who rarely multi table as I am somewhat practicing myself for the big stage on live tourneys( I think I am watching too much Pokerstar TV on youtube, LOL). Who doesn't want to earn a life changing prize money?.... So i want my decision making to be solid, may it be OL or live. I play only 1 table( sometimes 2), But I want the stake to matter to me so I can put my mind and heart into it. Anyway, $15 SNG has really a long wait time when it comes to 12 or 18 players. And you're playing the same players everyday. You're just waiting for visitors to join in. Sometimes I will wait for around 30 mins or more just to play an 18 player format and waiting is tiring. So I think that's part of the downswing. I think I need to learn how to play a full ring game again. I love 6max. It's the best game for me. But I need to find a game where there are more players.

GF on PS

I am lucky to have a GF who supports my poker career. She is so supportive that she decided to create her own account in PS and play 1.50 SNGs LOL. She is only a beginner and is trying to learn the game. I advised her to read the single tourney section in PSO and she did. She has improved incredibly after r4eading it but still trying to grasp the strategy of the game. I also mentor her whenever I watch her play or If she asks me questions about how she played a hand. I notice that when I was mentoring her, I was learning too. There were some things/plays that I was teaching her that I realize that I wasn't doing myself. I know the theory, But I rarely execute that move more often than I should. A healthy conversation leads to good things. I'll try my best and work hard to bounce back.
