Tournament paradise

By: 4rijeke @ 08:14 (EDT) / 168 / Comment ( 1 )

Exactly 3 years ago, I decided to start playing tournaments. I didnt had the bankroll and didnt want to play cash game as much. I installed Holdem Manager and set up the HUD for the first time in my life and started to grind. For the next year was the most stressful period in my poker career. I was playing 3 hours a day, almost every day. Variation hit me for the first time, and immediately I doubted myself. But I still have not given up. I knew I was doing a lot of things wrong, that my game away from good, but somebody somewhere said that practice makes the difference.

The game is constantly changing, and why it changes are top players who are adapting and seek added edge against all the others. The way I work on my game is that I do a lot of experimenting with different moves, and watch the other players react to it, watch youtube videos and read useful poker books. To do that effectively, I had to reduce the number of tables because I realized that it distracts me to play more than 2 tabels. There is another way to do it,  such as analysis of players HEM's, where exactly with the percentage accuracy, you can check each situation and move. I think that there are probably better ways than mine, but I still keep it, because it's the way I was taught from the very beginning.

The fifth year of grinding (not every day but still grinding) for me is going according to plan, where poker is just fun, not a job. Curently located on the beautiful Croatian coast,  swimming in the wonderful Adriatic Sea and catching a sun, I still make time for the most exciting game in the world.

Stay cool, stay in school, rule.
