local tourney/Met a PSO'er

Thursday night , went to play some cards and after speaking with TAKECHIPS at the tables here a few times, I noticed he was in my local area here in St. Petersburg, Fl. We both started talking about the tourney I mentioned In my previous blog , and we met up for some early tourney action Thursday night. Thurs nights at Derbylane usually have a bigger turnout but this week was meager, but after wading through 40 or so people and managing to survive my QQ losing to TAKECHIPS AK when we both met at final table, I did come out on top, took 1st place for $705, gave 10$ to the bubble player in 5th place and tipped dealer. I am remembering alot of good folds looking back , most in early position preflop (ala hand selection) and maintaining emotions on chip swings and pot losses, (Paul Samuels article here helped alot there). This can be a trouble spot and leak in my game, the emotion running rampant whether good or bad , feeling ego based, or negative after a loss. I met up with TAKECHIPS after the break , I had tripled up almost from original 4k starting stack and TAKECHIPS was slightly around average or starting amount , after he said he amassed some chips, AA smooth called his SEVENS preflop, John(TAKECHIPS), hit his set, and the AA took the ride to the river after John betting and Hit A on river to cripple him a little. John then was in late position , down to 6, and a lady who marries ace/ rag a/anything was getting short (previously won 2 consecutive showdown with a rag beating A Q once and A Ten again with a x rag. She moves again all in with A 9 , and john calls with AK , and poof, 9 flops and stays good, crippling him but maintained himself. Low and behold , we both found our selves at the final table, and he was making patient folds and timely folds, he folded to a raise reraise situation preflop when he looked down and saw AK and he folded, which was correct, as AA I believe held up. As I said before, we managed to stay out of each others way and saw some amazingly bad low EV plays get rewarded and those players stuck to their profile seeing there way the rail, one, calling my reraise allin multi way pot. I was on button , final table action, forget blind levels though I think 500/1000 50 ante, but anyways limp limp limp, im on button with A Q, and knew the players in pot and what their limps meant so I pushed all in. UTG called with QJ , and found her way to the rail. Got heads up with a player Ive seen there a few times and had a pretty good read on him and some body language tells, and took 1st. He had asked the remaining five players to go for a 5 way chop , and I politely declined and also offered it at 4, and still declined. I let him take the lead and control some hands and win some small pots early and then pushed him out of a big pot late with J 5 7 board, he bet flop , I had A 7 and smoothcalled, after watching him and felt I had a good read on him , forgot next card, may have been 3, and I pushed allin , taking a good pot. It was nice to meet TAKECHIPS and talk some strategy with him , and may have a piece of each other in saturdays $220 buyin, I looked at johns profile and he has had some major success here at PSO and sponsorship points, and look forward to half the success he has had. Vacation continues today, and will do some beaching for awhile today and head to felt for some cash game action today and maybe tourney again tonight, maybe lightning can strike twice in the lightning capital of the world here in florida, or at least let the thunder wait till saturday afternoon , when it will count even more.
