Becoming emotionless

Controlling your emotions is very important in poker, not just in not giving away tells in live poker, but is very important in online poker. The life of a poker player must be a hard one. I play small stakes and it annoys me often at the things that happen, like bubbling the final table 3 times in one day and all three times getting it in with a 60/40 or better, it can really get to you, so i can barely imagine how it affects a player when they have many thousands at stake or even many hundreds of thousands.  Is this why there are not many old poker players, because the life expectancy of a poker player isn't high due to stress?

I played my longest session on this day i final table bubbled alot, actually i played approxamately 36hrs straight, i was seeing little green men jump out of the computer screen at this stage, i did finish the day with $380 profit, and took a couple of shots, one in the nightly $162 had a deep run in the hot 22 (top 30 finish i think), and a 22r to the 700 aussie millions seat qualifier, where i was at the final 4, 3 spots payed 700 ticket and 4th was the lessor of cash, and since the target tourney was throught the first hour and some players had triple the starting stack i decided to give my chips away to take the cash, which i regret now, i should of taken the chance, especially when i was guaranteed the ticket being 2/4 and the shortest having less than 9 bbs. So it was a good session but had the potential to be a really big one!

I've got a bit of work to do over the next couple of days as i disect these 3 final table bubbles and see what i should be doing in these spots, should i be playing no hands and let the smaller stacks bust to get the final table and try and ladder up from there, two of the times i busted i was 6/10, or do you use this time to build chips to attack the final table as everyone else is playing cautiously to make the final 9 themselves? I always attack and am very aggressive there have only been a few times i have played a cautious somewhat passive game.
