Entry No.1 - The Road Ahead

Hi guys! I’ve only been playing for a few weeks and only started to properly document my results in the last few days. I used to focus on 9 man tables but I found it difficult to isolate the weaker players due to the large numbers on each table. Also 6 max seems to be more exciting!

Anyway, I’m aiming to get $100 profit from the 6 max ring games and zoom tables before I move up from $2 stakes (and avoid bankruptcy!!). I’m hoping to continue this blog till I either give up poker or have a huge bankroll; so here’s me hoping this blog goes on for a long time!

I’m writing this mainly so that when I look back on this experience I don’t just see a graph with numbers but a bit of a story. I am interested in seeing how other fellow starters are faring so feel free to comment below or post links to your blogs! If someone else is starting in 6 max cash games then I am also up for having a buddy to review hands with or just to talk through strategies.

My first couple of days have gone fairly well. I found a table that was playing extremely loose and managed to rack up a nice stack after a few all-ins. Other than that most hands were pretty standard and very little money was exchanged. Only one unfortunate moment occurred at about 170 hands where my opponent made trips on the river and had me shouting at my laptop about the injustice! Ah well, that’s poker for you.

Good luck at the tables!

Hands: 894
Profit: $5.20
