TIME TOURNAMENTS & THE MICRO LEVEL CASH TABLES

By: Astor G26 @ 15:29 (EST) / 195 / Comment ( 0 )

I played a $2.20 time touney, I think that was the price, I do recall 4 sure it was a 15 minute run & I picked up over $10. U, no  I should b aware of how much I spent an how much I won but I cannot seem 2 hang on 2 that info & I believe the reason 4 that is I keep totals of + or - $ when I shut down, I do not keep totals on time & other items so since I know there is no need 2 remember buy ins or winnings they have a tendency 2 b forgotten, also played the 2 hour time tourney and was given a bit over $6 when it was over. The time tournaments r a good way 2 speed up how 1 plays if that is what they would like to do, I c players at tables & it takes all their time 2 make a move, this can b a bad habit 2 pick up as when we r playing we have the 'time bank' 2 use but I noticed, now I may b wrong here as I am not positive about it, is the time bank what it sounds 2 b? As in u only have so much in the bank & once u use it up as in a cash bank, there is no time left. I notice in tourneys that some players who use a lot of time 2 decide early in the game seem 2 have the little green line beneath them turn 2 red & move towards timing out very fast later in the tourneys. As said, I may b wrong there but it seems 2 me that is what is going on. My league tourneys have been a bust this month, sort of bounced up & down all month. Did good at the tables but also took a few hits, over all it was a good day 4 playing the cash games & that brings up my other issue about the $0.01-$0.02 & also the $0.02-$0.05 tables. Those tables might b the most important thing here 4 us players who r basically what the rest call fish. Sure we can play at higher stakes but then u need 2 play a very tight game because many of the players there have years of experience behind them so 2 go against them our only tool is b aware, until we manage 2 start catching certain moves & r smart enough 2 tag those players. At the very low stakes it is not that it is easier because there r many new players, do not fool yourself with that idea, there r probably just as many experienced players there trying 2 pick up fast cash. In fact if u use colors when tagging players u will start seeing those colors down there once u have enough players tagged. No the great thing about those very low cost tables is u can try different things that may improve your game & it should not cost u a weeks worth of grinding 2 get it back. At least that is how I look at them. They say u can use the play money 4 testing out ideas but that is not so, not really, at the play money tables everyone knows, so it does get tossed around much easier & faster, makes sense, cost most of us zero, I have fooled around there & it is nothing like real cash, wish it was as I have about 3&1/2 million right now. No there has 2 b that element of risk, chance of losing real $ 2 make everyone take it seriously. The low stakes can still add up quickly or the reverse so u cannot take them 4 granted with that said they r the best place 2 go after going through the courses, take them 4 what they r, the best practice place 2 work on your game against real players with both of u after real $, have a great day everyone, talk 2 u soon, Len.
