Stick a fork in me....I might be done!

   I joined the PSO and recommended it to many friends and family. I joined to polish my game and hoped to learn to play a better game. In some aspects I succeeded, but for the most part I have become disenchanted and really frustrated.

 It seems to me that to play "my game" and try to make good sensible calls has no place in this free for all donk foraging orgy. No matter how I play I cannot statistically beat the players that go all in on hands like 2 7, 4 9, and the countless other "supposed" non playable hands. Sure, you just get by if you’re lucky and only have one or two at your table, but that is just not what is happening. It seems that most if not all the tables I continue to be seated at have four or even more. So you sit back and wait for the eventual to happen one, two, and three at a time depart after making absolutely terrible all in calls. Which then creates a "SUPER DONK" holding upwards of 3 thousand or more chips. The ones that left are then replaced with (most of the time) more donks. Some of which just chipped up from their previous table. Now, as time passes and blinds rise I fall further behind. All of sudden I’m sitting with 1k or less in chips surrounded two deep to both sides of me by super donks.

 A few months ago when I started playing in the league this seemed to be less of an occurrence due to the lesser amount of players. But as time passes more players join, which in turn deepens the muck and mire someone playing high on the leader board need to slosh your way through. I know that there are many top notch players that have the ability to do so, and can if all the planets align and it’s a blue moon. The problem is (and I don't think I'm exaggerating) no matter how consistently you play the donks have greater numbers and play their game more consistently. In my opinion the PSO league was, and is a GREAT idea. It truly has the ability to be a "DREAM LEAGUE". But like all great ideas, I believe it needs to improve and adapt.

 I do not think that I have even close to all the answers, but I do have a suggestion;

To further other players suggestions of different ideas for splitting the league, I throw in my two cents.

Why not split the league by taking the current top 200 players, and the top 200 players from each month previously to begin the new "A League" (or whatever you want to call it), and the remaining players would be in the "B League" (again, or whatever you want to call it). Every month there after take the top 200 players. The prize pools could also be split to still have the same amount of total cash, just smaller payouts. For instance "A" League top prize $1000.00, "B" League top prize $500.00 and so forth on down. This would make (most) the "B" League players want to improve their game, and place in the top 200 to be able to move up to higher payouts and play at a higher level. If other still wanted to push all in on every hand so be it, they will probably remain in the “B” league.

 So, for me I have come to a crossroads. I refuse to play in free rolls for just the same reasons I now see the PSO tourneys going. I agree there needs to be a place a player can go that has no bankroll, wants to learn, and get hand time in. In that aspect the PSO is way ahead of the curve.

After this current month is over I will not be playing as frequently as in the past. I will be heading back to SNG, MMT's, and cash games. I wish all the players I have met and had the pleasure playing with all the luck...yer gonna need it! I would return to play again on a more regular basis once this league truly becomes the "skill" league it has the potential to be.
