The beggining

Hi all,

I'm Cristela81 from Romania. I work as a cashier and I heard of Pokerstars from an ex-coworker in 2013. I've started playing poker on Pokerstars in january 2014.

At first I played with play money, but after I've started to reach some final tables in play money tournaments and because I've wanted to see if I can cope with real money soon I've invested several times 20-30$ (a total of 180$ in 6 months without realising then) and started to play for real money. But because I didn't respected the bankroll management advises soon all those money was gone and decided to not invest real money until my play will improve and so I've restarted to play with play money in MTT's and Sit and Go's and freeroll tournies and also PSO Skill League tournies.

Slowly the play money bankroll started to increase and by june-july 2014 I had 100.000 play money. Starting from july my available free time has decreased a lot and I've started to lose interest in Pokerstars by playing only for play money, but didn't wanted yet to invest real money since I didn't was yet prepared for this and slowly forgot about Pokerstar until december 2014 when I decided to try once more at first for play money. Obviously all I've learned previous was lost and without reading once again those courses I've started my play. In a few days that bankroll of 100.000 play money was lost foulishly and forced me to go and read once more those poker courses. I improved my game but what I was gaining in the Sit and Go PM 100 NLHE (Hyper) I was loosing in the PM hourly 1k NLHE tournies.

Even though I wasn't yet fully prepared, starting from january 2015 I decided to make a deposit of 8$ (the minimum amount) and from here to increase my bankroll. Obviously at first I've made mistakes and very much part of this bankroll was lost. At first I've tried in 5 different days to play 0,01/0,02$ zoom games with a minimum buy-in ammount, but crashed and lost so I've scolded myself and imposed to play only $0,02 NLHE (Hyper-Turbo) Sit and Go, PSO Skill League and other freeroll tournies with those last remaining 3$.

Slowly I've rebuilded the bankroll. I've played a total of 587 tournaments of 0,02$ NLHE for which I've spent 11,74$ and from which I've gained 15,50$. I was lucky to gain also 3$ from the january daily chalenge and at the end of january I've tripled the last starting bankroll, and I'm closing the month with a 9$ bankroll.

From those 587 tournies I finished in the money in only 19 tournies. In the money places occupied at the end of those tournies where: 1, 2 (2x), 4, 7, 8, 12, 13, 18, 21 (2x), 23, 25, 26, 31, 32, 45 and 48.

Note that I also had a finish in 78th place in PSO Skill League. Final league rank for january is 5175.

It's good but I still have work to do. I have to learn to give up to a hand which is no longer a winning hand after flop, I have to be more patient and selective with the starting hands I want to play and much more courageos when I can play with suited or connected cards. And I also have to learn to not be impulsive in the next hand after a bad beat against a hand ranked lower preflop, but  a monster postflop. For now I'm keeping track of my evolution in an excel. So I can see if I will improve and how much I'll improve.
