MTT March so far..

By: Fadyen @ 15:04 (EDT) / 476 / Comment ( 1 )

March it seems has been a month for MTTs with the 7th Anniversary Sunday Million, WBCOOP, Micro Millions and PSO's own March Mayhem. With all this going on I've been very distracted from my goals and my regular grind and as a result this has been a losing month so far as money goes. But even though I'm down a few buck has it been worth it? Well that's what I'm here to tell you.

Starting off my MTT journey was the 7th Anniversary Sunday Million, something I had been looking forward too although worried the magnitude of the event would attract a lot of fish. Have to say my fears were justified but that didn't impact my tournament as much as the lack of hands did. Couldn't seem to get anything going and only two real hands of note that I played:

I couldn't decide between AK or a big pocket pair until the river, but even then had to just call just incase.

Here I just couldn't make sense of his hand so I manned up and made the call, turned out I was right. Not much more happened after this and I busted quite a way short of the money.

Next on the calendar my first WBCOOP and what a fun series this is. Not only was it a chance to earn some SCOOP tickets but also was great for getting an insight into the poker lives of all the bloggers out there. For no investment other than time I got to experience a whole poker series, playing in some great tourneys and keeping up to date with the leader board and how my friends were doing. Despite busting event 1 early the series started well for me overall with a 7th place finish in the 6-max PLO and then a 14th in a Hold'em event not long after. With two $22 tickets in the bad my spirits were high even after busting out close to the bubble in the next event I played. The 4-max NLHE was my next cash and what a roller coaster ride that game was. Lots of bad beats but also got AA five times and flopped top set four of those times and finished in a respectable 20th. After that though I didn't run too well and only min cashed one more event. Felt robbed in the Razz and the second PLO 6-max events but guess I can't complain with $66 worth of tickets overall.

Throughout all this and still going on is the March Mayhem, PSO's very own tournament series. I know a lot of you play this and a few may even have it out for me as at the time of writing this I am top of the leader board for this month. It's a great series PSO run and fun to play especially as it's with some familiar faces. Good poker and good banter, can't beat it. Hoping to make a good run in the remaining events and show you all how it's done :p

And what next? Well it's on to Micro Millions! 100 events over a few days and I plan to play at least a few of them. Already min cashed event 1; the $0.11 rebuy donkament. Insane play and had AK vs rags 5 times all in pre against the same player and 5 times the rags won. The villain in question did not cash despite rebuying over 30 times. Event 2 was a lot less insane but I ended up not rebuying after being rediculously slow rolled by a big stack. Hopefully the I will improve as the series goes on, watch this space!
