My poker journey.

Hey!

As the title suggests, this post will introduce me, FinOcassus, to you. I am a 20 years old boy currently living in Helsinki, which is the capital of Finland. I'm studying tourism at Arcada, which is a university of applied sciences. My interests, other than poker, is partying, music, hanging out with my friends and so on.

I've been playing online poker for about a year, never seriously though since I've never had the motivation to actually read any poker books or so. Haven't even watched any youtube tutorials or read anything similar. Which was incredibly stupid since I lost a few hundred euros last year thanks to it. So, now I'm going to try to work more on the theoretic side of poker in order to gain a greater understanding of the game. Also practicing on not letting myself go, I'm unfortunately a quite thankful player to play against since I tilt easily (you're welcome for that piece of free information).

With that out of the way, let's focus on the freeroll aspect of this post: Currently playing the PokerSchool open League, I'm at place 462 out of 1703. Surprisingly high place for me but there's still quite a bit to go. My game's been rather solid, in my own opinion atleast. Not playing very aggresively but I've still managed to pick up some nice pots. Been sitting at 11-13K chips for about half an hour or so, currently seated on a table with many players who are sitting out and a few with stacks way bigger than mine. Not an ideal situation for me but who knows, maybe I'll pull this one off. I''ll write another entry after the tournament has ended, might include a hand or two there aswell if I experience any really interesting ones.

EDIT: Knocked out at 600th something place out of 9000 participants. Surprisingly good result considering I haven't been playing poker for some time. Stupid ass way to get eliminated in though (had pocket 6's from the start, other guy had 10,Q or similar). I have to stop relying on mid-low pairs since they always tend to screw me over. Oh well, better luck next time I suppose.
