FurryWallz slow climb from mediocrity

/Mar/2012

A month into PSO

I have not blogged in a couple days, which seems strange because I had blogged for 24 consecutive days beforehand.

Well, to start, I have NOT gone broke and shut the system down and declared blasphemy the whole time crying "why me!"

Its true, I've taken a full week of considerable beatings after cashing out, and lost most of my remaining bankroll. I'm still around my original deposit, which is a good thing, and I've taken a few days off to clear my head, develop a new plan of action, and find out what I need to do to stick to said plan.

Well, I'm blogging again, so it appears I'm ready to start playing again. While playing pool last night ( I lost my league match. Sad times ), I ran into a friend of mine who plays poker full time. He's an old friend and we got to talking, and I told him I was making a stab at it, and I told him what happened. He chuckled and said I was the victim of the cashout rule. Never cash out when building a bankroll. I laughed with him, and we continued to talk and have a few drinks. Its funny though, while building my bankroll, I got scared and cashed out to buy tickets to a concert and alleviate the pressure of depositing myself, despite the fact that I had more then enough cash-on-hand to get these tickets myself. I felt the need to make the tickets courtesy of pokerstars.

Anyway, I'm back and slowing down some for the next couple weeks, while i focus on things other then poker. I'll keep blogging on days I dedicate to the grind.

A month into PSO, and I still feel like I've learned so much. I've grown and my poker knowledge has grown exponentially. Everyone is so helpful and supportive. I truly hope I can curb the gambler in me and stick to the BR management strategies I developed over the first three weeks.

We shall see.

cheers everyone,
Gerard.
