One Hour Of Observations

By: GlenfordSam @ 06:55 (EDT) / 64 / Comment ( 3 )

This morning I was busted out early at the 5:10 tourney, HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE. I had on the flop the highest pair J's with A kicker (A,J), I was also short stacked so I went all in ... as the flop was 8,J,5. The larger stack called with nothing on the board but an outside possible straight, He had A,Q.

Tell me what happened, Nah no Queen came, guess again... yes, the turn came 9 and the river 10. I just had a laugh. I then decided to go look up a few League leaders at play, just to see if I could benefit from their style. The first one I looked at got busted out early he had pocket 9s went all in and lost to AQ.

Then I started to look at other things, like who winning the hands and who getting busted out. I was able to see the hole cards when they went heads up and this made very interesting and at times comical viewing. On many occasions seeing the larger stack simply coming from behind,  to bust out the smaller stack.
I said to myself, maybe it's programmed that way so that each tourney could finish within a certain timeframe.

So if I learnt one lesson from that exercise it is... "Be cautious when going up against the player with the larger stack, pray and hope to be very lucky. As they say 'keep your fingers crossed''

Have a nice day folks especially you fathers.

See you at the tables!!
