First week = Not so good

By: Grade b @ 14:01 (EST) / 43 / Comment ( 2 )

So my first thought as i look at Week one results was, "man I really suck at challenges"

Overall in the last 7 days I played 8072 hands at 5nl and lost $13.36 8063 hands zoom and 9 hands reg speed. No Its about this time in a challenge previously I would lose heart in my own ability and wonder off to do something else.  Not this time, let's look a little closer.

Date                      hands      win / loss           VPIP          PFR            FPPS
15th Dec 2012         1136    $15.14              10.78         8.21           22.75
16th Dec 2012         1485    $3.20                12.04         9.67           25.74
17th Dec 2012            519   -$7.53              15.13         12.97         16.07
18th Dec 2012         1207    $1.68               11.54           7.58         15.71
19th Dec 2012         1407    $0.53               13.82        10.09          48.14
20th Dec2012          1021   -$13.53             13.96          9.9            28.02
21st Dec 2012         1297   -$12.85             13.17           9.65         25.39

So during week I had 4 winning days and 3 losing days.  I have already discovered I over play my QQ and AK  pre-flop, and I'm working on correcting that.  Also I'm reading "No Limit Hold'em Theory and Practice" by David Sklansky and Ed Miller  and trying to make adjustments to my game.

Now I don't know about you but when I try to work on a new part of my game I always seem to do worse.  Why? well I think it's because I concentrate on that part of the game rather than the game as a whole.

So a poor week or rather an OK week with Thursday and Friday being absolute stinkers, I am down under 3 full bus ins or 4.5 $3 buy ins so I shall continue and will hope to have better things to report in future weeks.
