Kings and straights

Well I started really well yesterday, doubled up on my 3rd hand and was sitting pretty on around 3500 with half an hour gone.

I then got dealt pocket kings, personally I hate pocket pairs, if someone calls they can hit 2 pair, anything from 2,3 to QJ and pocket aces can beat you.

As it happens they had pocket aces so I was stuffed without realising it, coming out of the hand with about 1800 left in chips.

I managed to hit a flush, mainly because the only person in the pot with me checked the flop and then bet 30 on the turn making it cheap for me to call. Hit my flush on the river and then got accused of fishing, I played the odds and won, go figure.
In another hand, haveing been dealt a king in the big blind I hit a king on the flop, then decided to slow play, hit a king on the river for trips, got accused of fishing yet again. Sorry, but I wanted to see whether anyone had anything while hopefully building the pot, got paid nicely for it to.

In the end got dealt AQ and went all in against JJ and 99, the flop came KQJ, the turn was a 10, this had me thinking i'd more than quadrupled my stack only for the river to be another 10, so I lost to a full house, never mind as I finished in 204th place.

I'm not a great player and have a lot to learn but it's all fun and everyone plays differently which is what makes it challenging.
