Folding AA or KK

By: MNBigDaddy @ 02:20 (EST) / 147 / Comment ( 0 )

Ok those that seen my last post about folding AA or KK to a bingo player that shoves all in preflop in the first 20 min of the game......I can't say I was fortunate enough to catch either of those hands early on in the tournament.  I did however make a good lay down I think preflop to only be rewarded the very next hand.  I had set my table image as a tight player so any type of raise I should get most ppl to flold.  I should set the scene first.  The hand before player A to my left took a loss with a hand that most players would not have played in his position he hit on the flop only to out drawn on the river.  Now the scenerio......It's the middle of the tournament and I have about 4500 in chips and player a has about 2700 after his loss the hand before.  I'm UTG and have 88 I make a min raise with my tight image player A is still making a comment about his previous loss and shoves all in (2799)  with ?? everyone else folds back to me........If I make the call I risk losing a little over half my stack and still have some chips...........long story short I fold to save them for another time.  The very next hand I'm the BB and see QQ dealt to me, now player A who is UTG now shove all his chips in again!!!!  Still must be steaming from the loss 2 hands ago.  Everyone folds back around to me as I make the call, he shows K 10 off, I like my chances.   I go on to take the pot and knock him out.  Has any noticed that when you make a good laydown it seems your rewarded with an even better hand soon after or is it just me?.........would like to hear others thoughts on this observation.  So it wasn't AA or KK that I laid down to a bingo player but a decent heads up hand.......if I make the call with the 88 and lose I still have chips but then when I catch my QQ on the next hand I don't have the chips to knock the bingo player out.....instead make a lay down that make u feel good because of the outcome on the next hand.
