I Feel Negreanu's Pain

By: MNBigDaddy @ 22:42 (EST) / 250 / Comment ( 0 )

Those of you that have watched High Stakes Poker on GSN know the kind of bad run Daniel has taken the past couple of seasons.  I'm starting to feel his pain, as some of you have read in my earlier blog AA has not faired well for me pre-flop.  In the latest PSO tourney tonight lightening struck me twice again, that or the donkapatamus gods are fooling with me.  This time my AA gets cracked by 1010, hits his 10 on the flop, he's only got 280 left in a pot of 6200, I call only to lose.  Then wouldn't u know it I catch AA three hands later only to have them cracked by Carelare.....aka DONKAPOTAMUS with his Q9c, to hit his flush on the turn.....money was all in pre-flop once again.

First scenerio blinds are 200/400, Donkapotamus is UTG raises to 800 with his 1010, I'm UTG+1, I pop it to 2400, he's got 1900 left after his intial raise, you know the rest he calls.

Second scenerio is 3 hands later I'm sb for 200, bb is all in for 390, two others limp in for 400, comes around to me and I shove with 1885 left.  One limper drops but donkapotamus calls for another 1685, his chip stake is at 5400 thanks to the great call he made earlier(not).  The call he makes for 1685 is for over 1/3 of his chip stack.  Needless to say he makes his straight and flush at the same time.

I see Daniel is still playing poker despite his bad run on HSP, I to will continue to play and don't think I would play them any differently the last 4 times I've had them and lost.  About the only thing I may try the next time I get the AA is keep enough chips to be able to bet a person off of what ever they have.  Chalk up my beats to something called poker varience as I read earlier in the PSO web pages.  People say they hate the AA and donkies, but I say I'll take them everytime against them, as in the long run the donkies will lose more times than not.  I posted the hands below if anyone can look them over and give me any pointers as to what maybe I should have done different, but I think I played them pretty solidily.  Oh and if any of you donkies out there would like to post someting as to give us a glimpse of what goes thru your mind when you get re-raised with your pocket 10's or your Q9c please share.

If you all didn't catch the name of donkapotamus it's Carelare, so if you see him at your table beware.  I welcome him to my table anytime as more times than not I will outplay someone like that over the long run.  One side note Carelare aka donkapotamus was out of the tourney 15 hands after I was bounced.
