I have been working hard, and trying to do better. Currently ranked in 82nd place out of about 10,354 players. My last game I came in 13th place and only received 20.71 points. With 4 days left, I am not sure how much higher I can climb. The negative points are so high, and the positive points are so low depending on the finishes. The last time I came in this close to the final table was in July. With the playing field being so much bigger and harder, I really feel like I accomplished something. Hell, I even saved a screen shot of my ranking.
I went and looked up in the forums the post on the Scoring System Analysis and found the below: "We start at 1770 with a "mild" throttle. We increase that throttle at 1790, then again at 1810, again at 1830, 1850 and finally 1870. At 1870 the maximum throttle is applied because through tens of millions of hands of data (from old PSO) we have determined that this is the point where a player has proven their skill more than at any other place in the point system." Since I am at 1847.42, this is key information. At this point, I have to finish in the money every time I play or it will be close to or big negative points.
I still have only played 40 games total this month, about a page and a half of results. So people complaining that you need to play every game to reach the top 100 are wrong. I reached a high place of 82nd with 40 games played. I am so happy, and proud of that. I will try better this ranking over the next few days, but I don't plan on playing every game or going insane. That's not how I played this month, and I don't plan on finishing it that way.
