Why I Love PokerStars

By: NoS_I_Am1 @ 05:10 (EST) / 377 / Comment ( 1 )

Hi, fellow students.

I've decided to write this blog to share my future plans for the new year on PokerStars. Also how PokerStars will contribute to my plans.

Insight of me as a poker player

Most of this is covered in my post titled 'My Biggest Mistakes Are Before I Take A Sit!'. But basically I'm new to poker began playing online very late last year. Even this year I played very little because I was completing my last year of High School. In the post mentioned above I give an insight of myself amongst it how I lost my entire bankroll fresh into the online scene and how I built it up from $0.00 to a healthy $40 and later down again to $5. Since then though it's now at $75 .  Yep I am proud to say I am a much better player now then I was when I started, back when I thought I was the best player ever (lol, now the greatest player ever). This summary of my career should get you through the rest of this post.

Why PokerStars Is The Best

For me it is because of the various things that benefit different players with different needs. From freerolls to playmoney, from holdem to draw poker, from cash games to tournaments to SnG's. In all kinds of stakes and speeds (slow...turbo, hyper...). Let us not forget about the famous Spin & Go's, which I like to call the Zoom of tournaments. When there is so much at offer players don't argue about what they want but about what they don't want. Today it's all about me and I'll tell you why I love PokerStars.

VIP Club

Yep this is why I love PokerStars, the VIP Club. The moment you sign up for PokerStars you instantly become a member of the VIP Club. The more you earn VPP's the more you move up the different levels. And the more you move up the levels the more you get rewarded. How great is this?!, all I have to do is earn VPP's. Not as easy as it sounds. First you need to have a big enough bankroll to support the stakes you need to play to earn the VPP's required for the different levels.

This serves as motivation for me to improve my game in order to increase my bankroll and move up stakes. This won't stop until I reach Supernova Elite. Currently I'm a ChromeStar, this gets me a free ticket to play the $1K GTD freerolls which run 3 times a day. It also provides me with free entrance to the $5K GTD weekly freeroll.  So much better than BronzeStar never returning there again the only way for me is UP.

Focused on mantaining my ChromeStar status I had completely forgotten about the VIP Stellar Rewards and was surprised when I received an email notifying me about the $10 I've been rewarded for achieving 750 yearly VPPs. Talk about a morale booster here I was slowly building my bankroll steadily until suddenly I was given a 20% increase to my bankroll - JUST FOR PLAYING. From grinding freerolls just to make enough cents to play the "scavengers" $0.02 SnG's  to earning a free $10. This gives me all the more motivation and belief (important to a poker player) that I will eventually reach Supernova Elite with help from PokerStars.

Then there's the FPP's almost forgot about those, what else is there? So much you're awarded just for playing.  If it wasn't for my BronzeStar 'satellite' spending days, I would have just above 1K FPPs halfway to buying the jacket I really like from the VIP Store to wear when I play live.

My New Year's Resolution

For the year 2015 I've set myself the goal of achieving and maintaining SilverStar status throughout the first 6 months. Then evaluate after that if I have a big enough bankroll to strive for GoldStar status then I would be half way to reaching my Ultimate goal of achieving 'Supernova Elite'. All I have to do is earn 20VPPs(16.7 to be exact) a day for a whole month to achieve this. I would have made $40 in VIP Stellar rewards if I succeed in the first 6 months and since as a SilverStar you earn FPPs 50% faster I would have 4.5K FPPs. It has even more rewards than ChromeStar but you'll check that out for yourself. In the next 3 years I aim to achieve Supernova status and play one of the big live events, perhaps EPT or WPT maybe even the PCA or WSOP. (Dreaming too BIG?)

For the next year I've set a simple and attainable goal for my skills and bankroll if I play as profitable as I have been recently. Last two days I've been running bad though lost with aces 5 times in row and haven't won once. Old me would have blamed PokerStars for it but I know that it happens and has happened in the past, It still will continue to happen. But regardless I'll come out on top in the end as I have in the past.(hopefully)

I wrote this to make you guys aware of the different things here at PokerStars especially the VIP Club. If there is anyone who is or would like to do this challenge for 2015, please let me know so we could update on each other progress. But I will be posting every month end about the progress of this challenge. Hopefully my first month isn't a failure. NO my first month will be a success it has to be or else I might as well wait for 2016. So subscribe if you want to follow my progress to Supernova Elite, especially if you're new and want tips on how to move from BronzeStar to ChromeStar and pretty soon SilverStar.

Thanks for reading this and I wish you all a Happy New Year!
