Catching Collusion for the 2nd time

By: Ovalman @ 05:38 (EST) / 179 / Comment ( 0 )
I was refunded today by Pokerstars after I reported 3 players for colluding in 2 x 6 seat STT's. It was a bit strange 3 colluding as 6 max only pays 2 places, I was definite 2 were cheating and a third I was bit unsure of as he may have just been a bad player but I reported him anyway. I won't give any names but Pokerstars say they have been banned from the site and I have been refunded my buy in back.

They raised, reraised and reraised each street, isolating themselves for each hand and allowed the shortest stack to win every river without showing a hand. In the end I just called them down with rags to force them to show. I even joined their next game to confirm my suspicions.

Another opponent at the table accused them in the chat but this is the wrong way to go about it, it only makes the colluders stop and think. Say nothing and let them get away with it, document your reasons why you think their colluding and email support. If you are proved correct then you will get your buy in back (or promoted in the cash payouts).

This is the 2nd time I've been proved correct in reporting colluders and the 4th time I've been refunded. I'm not worried however about them, I count them as an occupational hazzard, 4 cheats in 4,000 games is not a big amount. I'm sure some get through the net but what you don't know doesn't hurt you. I've always said it takes 2 good colluders to cheat 1 reasonable player.

On a similar vein I was accused of cheating last night while I was 6 tabling limit STT's. I and another UK player where short stacked against a ?Czech? player. I felt I played a decent short stacked game as I kept pushing against my UK opponent and he kept folding while he kept pushing against the Czech and winning. What the Czech failed to realise was it was the first time I'd played against the UK opponent, I was 6 tabling and as I said I played a decent short stacked game. In the end I KO'd the UK player and the Czech player won the game.

I was sort of riled about being accused, especially after me being colluded against myself.

If you have any suspicions however I suggest you do as I did, say nothing, gather as much evidence as possible and report it. I certainly wouldn't think twice about reporting a cheat.
