February Review and March Goals

By: Ovalman @ 10:59 (EST) / 487 / Comment ( 3 )

I started the month so well winning a Battle of the Planets Leaderboard place but towards the end of the month I suffered a bit in Limit STTs, couldn't win a flip and also played badly. Variance can really hurt at times but when you combine it with bad play, it can be a killer. I still made a profit in them but if it wasn't these Limit games my profit would be much more.

What I am really happy with is my form in 45 Man SnGs. I seem to be crushing these whenever I play them. I'd a 49% ROI in 147 50cent games. For this reason I think I should be concentrating on these 45 Man games instead of Limit.

My March goals are now to play 500 50c games, playing 10 tables at a time in blocks of 20. I'm going to review after each 20 block and then also review after 100 and 500. If I make $30 before the 500 has finished I'll move up to $1.50 regardless but move back down if I struggle or variance isn't on my side.

My Open Skill League Rank was abysmal but I don't count this tourney with too much value and I'm not bothered about it. In saying that there is a lot of value in the Premier League so I'll play another few games this month and try again.

I'd really like to play the 7Million tourney but I've nowhere near the bankroll to play it. I will play the $11 Satellite which is guaranteeing 1,000 places. I don't expect an overlay in the main event or Satellite but they should be both fish filled and I have as good a chance as any.

I'd like to cash a few times in the WBCOOP. All of these games pay out 108 places so it's wise to pick games, no matter how obsure that have low fields. I'll definitely be playing FLHE games but I'll have a crash course in Badugi if there are less than 100 players.

Besides reviewing my hands I'll also watch a few training videos. At least one a week. The Red Star Pro's must have got a kick up the backside by Pokerstars because they are inputting into the PSO a lot more. I can only welcome it and try and glean as much info as I can from them, remember I will be challenging them one day!

To read about my reviews of my 45 man games in more detail then go here. Nothing is ever set in stone but I'd like to be playing $3.50 by the end of the month.

Quote: “I hope to break even this week. I need the money.”
