Ovalman's Micro grind

Part time Poker Nut, Astro Nut and a lover of Glentoran FC.

I had a terrible first month in the Premier League, some of it was bad play on my behalf but a lot was just not getting the luck when I shoved my chips. I couldn't win a race and in 3 games I got my chips in with AA, KK and QQ only to lose to 77,55 and 55.

My only saving grace was a 5th place finish yesterday which will move me up a few spaces. Whether its enough to keep me up there is another matter. I'm not worried about making the cash, the important thing is staying there.

Facing relegation, I played 6 games in the Premier Skill League Qualifier. I had 5 above average finishes and 1 cash which was a respectable 4th so even if I am relegated I could sneak in the back door.

I can't stress how important for me is in playing the Premier League. For my bankroll, there is a lot of cash playing it. $20 for 500th place is a decent amount and winning it would see my bankroll hit the funds required for the stakes I really want to be at -$15 STT, gold star and 10,000 VPP's.

I had my year mapped out in January but as yet I haven't seen myself progress to where I want to be. I had hope in February I would move to Silver Star, that needs 750VPP's in a month. Tilt caused me to take a step back but in reality I don't think I'm playing bad. I generated 47 VPPs yesterday, so I can't see why I'm not up there. April is now my target.

My targets for April are now:

a) Make a profit, profit is the bottom line. VPP's mean nothing if I don't make a profit.
b) If I'm relegated from the Premier League then getting back is a must. If I stay in the Premier League then try and make a prize.
c) Try each week for the Battle of the Planets Leaderboards high orbit, any cash prize would be nice. 100 games in a week isn't that hard for me, I can play 8 tables at a time @ $3.50 stakes. I might mix stakes to try for different leaderboards.
d) Generate 750 VPP's to make Silver Star. There is a 1.5 multiplier on Silver Star so FPP's will be earned quicker. If c) goes to plan then it shouldn't be too hard.
e) Study for 1 hour a day minimum. I look at hand histories every day but I'm starting to think this is not good enough. I'll take in a few video's and ask more questions on the forum. I'll also try and answer other peoples questions. I may not be right but usually by putting input into a thread you glean information that improves your game. Healthy discussion is always good.

That's me set. I'll hopefully get through 20+ games today, I'll evaluate my game when I finish.

Until next time.

Good luck at the tables.
