Guaranteed prize pool for the PokerStars-sponsored UK & Ireland Poker Tour Nottingham Main Event, which takes place next week from April 12-19. The buy-in is £1,100 and organisers are hoping to beat last year’s mammoth field of 1,223 players, which set a prize record for the tour. There are a total of nine events at the festival, including a £3,200 High Roller and a £330 Nottingham Cup.

The benchmark prize in PokerStars’ latest campaign, PokerStars Makes Millionaires. Over the next seven weeks, the world’s largest poker site aims to make five more millionaires through a series of promotions and tournaments. To date, over 150 players have won prizes of $1,000,000+ in PokerStars online and live events.

Amount won by Pascal ‘Päffchen’ Hartmann, who topped a field of 649 players in the $1,050 Super Tuesday this week. The young Austrian is obviously on something of a heater as he cashed in three EPT Malta series events recently.

The PokerStars Big $109 first prize won last night by new Friend of PokerStars, Jaime Staples, just hours after he was announced as a sponsored player and PokerStars Twitch host. It was his biggest ever online tournament score, narrowly surpassing the $19,422 he won in the Big $109 a month ago.

Season 9 of the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour continues this week in Seoul, South Korea. The Paradise Walkerhill Casino plays host to a six-tournament festival, which includes a KRW 3,000,000 (approx. US $2,750) buy-in Main Event from April 9-12. There is also a KRW 6,000,000 High Roller event.
