TCOOP - The Story so Far

TCOOP 2016 – weekend round-up (Events 1-19)
The first weekend of the PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker 2016 saw some big prize pools and high-profile winners, including Team PokerStars Pro Online member George ‘Jorj95’ Lind.

Lind picked up his first TCOOP title in Event 15, a $215 NLHE 6-Max, Hyper-Turbo – a structure perfectly suited to the Canadian, who is accustomed to playing thousands of Hyper-Turbo Sit & Go’s every month.

Lind pocketed  $72,113.88 in a lightning-fast 2 hours and 7 minutes after topping a field of 2,172 players. With a SCOOP title already in the locker, he now needs just a WCOOP victory to take ‘Triple COOP’ honours.

Elsewhere, ‘woody1234321’ became only the second player to win two TCOOP titles (‘AlexKP’ being the first), after taking the victory in Event 17 – a $215 NLHE [Optional Re-Entry] – for $118,818.68. The player, who resides in Mexico, overcame a field of 2,987 to record his second TCOOP win, having previously won Event 3 in TCOOP 2015 for almost exactly the same amount – $117,343.49.

Former ANZPT Perth Main Event champion, Patrick ‘pmahoney22’ Mahoney, also pocketed a six-figure score ($109,486.76) after victory in TCOOP-16 – a $700 Progressive Super-Knockout – for $109,486.76.

In the final event on Sunday, Ben ‘Fabaz’ Farrell took the $215 NL Sunday Supersonic SE win for $84,490.25 in just 2 hours and 3 minutes. The UK player has been on a heater in the past few months, with victories in the Hot $44, Big $22, $55 Daily Double, Sunday Storm, and Hot $82. He also final-tabled the WCOOP-43 Warm-Up in 2014, but now has a ‘COOP’ title to his name.
