My poker years 2012 and 2013

Hey PSO'ers,

first of all: Happy New Year! I wish you all the best for a good start in 2013, especially at the poker tables. I am looking forward to welcome you and work with you on your game in my 2013 live trainings.

My blog here at PSO has been quite inactive for some time now and as a New Year's resolution I will try to keep you guys updated on my poker life again. For this first entry in 2013 I will do a quick summary of what happened in 2012 and what I plan to do in 2013.

Looking back at my poker year 2012 things did not always work out the way I would have wanted them to - but that's poker, and that's life. The good thing about this is I learned hell of a lot about myself and my game, my strengths and my weaknesses. I have grown and I will always keep striving to improve both as a person and as a poker player.

Here are some cliffs to sum up what happened in my poker life in 2012:

- January till March: Went through the biggest downer of my entire career at 200NL 6-max and lost a great deal of my motivation to grind.

- April: Took a break from online poker.

- May: Returned to the tables for Zoom poker and started having success & fun again.

- June: Ran a summer coaching bootcamp and grinded live cashgames in Las Vegas with great success.

- July: Returned to the Zoom tables with even more success and increasing motivation to grind.

- August till October: Ran the "Grinding it up on Zoom" Challenge at IntelliPoker (PSO for ze Germans) starting with $80 at 2NL 6-max climbing all the way up to 50NL 6-max Zoom.

- November: Ran a winter coaching bootcamp and grinded live cashgames in Las Vegas again.

- December: Returned to my regular stakes (100NL/200NL 6-max), found both success and my motivation to grind again.

My main goal for 2013 now is to keep up my motivation to grind and my joy in playing. In order to accomplish that I will not set any VPP goals apart from renewing my Supernova, but I will return to my stakes 100NL and 200NL 6-max, work hard on my game and strive to improve as I always have in my best poker times. Who knows, If all goes well I might see me taking another few shots at midstakes.

Having said that I will now make my way to the tables and play my first session in 2013. Will keep you posted with interesting hands and my progress. Feel free to rail or say hi in chat when you meet me at the tables - and of course don't miss out to visit my training sessions!

Good luck at the tables and see you in training,

- Felix
