My own Way To Train Poker - Beginner level

By: Pokermancer8 @ 06:08 (EST) / 358 / Comment ( 1 )

Topic of the Week

This is exactly a week i have been playing poker. So far so good!

As a beginner i understood i have to create my own personal notices on how i play each day and the progress.

If anyone gets some benefit from reading my tips i would be very surprised!

How To Track Your Progress Easily and Efficiently

It just takes paper + pen.

You write in one page all tournaments (buy-in,players,My finished place, time in tournament, win/loss, and lastly but most importantly reason.

In other pages you write same things but for cash games, and playmoney chip games.

And then you just need to take a glance to understand the whole situation.

Reasons of Lossing (sample)

1. Bluffing with crap cards

2. Bad beat

3. Bad odds

4. Low kicker

5. Outdrawn

6. Overconfident

7. In a hurry/not motivated

etc..

My own Results

Out of 25,000 players i got as far as 427th place with the reason of (crap cards semi-bluffing). I should have written if i was drained from chips(short stacked) or i was fighting the big stack player.(Just now i noticed this should be important)

Personally i have been concentrating on freerolls.

The most important thing of the Week

Dont go all-in no matter the cards pre-flop if you have short stack and if you want to continue in the tournament. (Even AA or KK can easily and often be destroyed..)

The Next Level

I feel i have to use this for few weeks and emphasize on my loss reasons, and later add goals for each tournament(the minimum place i want to get) and reasons for winning. And recrunching the learning courses, watch more youtube videos about poker.

I feel im on the right track. If i am missing something very important please leave a comment!

P.S. jumping on holdem manager seems stupid, since such advanced programs are useless for my knowledge on how to get the best of them. I tried watching them but found overcomplicated
