Bang-ing my head Big time

By: PsychoVas @ 12:46 (EDT) / 383 / Comment ( 2 )

Hello people.

Yesterday was the Big Day for this ol' duck as you might have read at a previous post. WBCOOP and Big Bang, oh, my.

I started my poker day at 17:00 local time wlth Event 25: NLHE (Big Stack). I had high hopes for this one as big stack allows for one or two losses and the structure was not a crazy turbo. This kind of games suits me usually as I'm a bit scared of all the shoves that come with the turbos and I end up blinded and anted out. Very proud to say that I started right next to our very own Paul "royalraise85".

He got unlucky at one point and busted out early on a cooler. I kept playing a not bad game for almost three hours. Then Big Bang was near and something came over me. Fear, uneasyness, expectation, thrill, a rather strange mix. At this point I felt like being fancy. The "Go Big or Go Bust" kind of fancy. Dumm Duck. I raised, got re-raised and shoved a not so tiny stack. Oops. Watch:

Ok, bad move, bye bye Event, let's concetrate on the Big Bang. Well I started rather good, almost great. I was within the top 20 for a long time. Then two mistakes got the better of me. At the first, after a raise I called instead of shoving, then called and called again, crippling my stack to a hand that was so concealed by stupid play, I would never guess. I mean "who the heck raises 93o at the SB?" I thought he had some high cards, faces and those didn't connect. See:

After that I was feeling sooo frustrated I couldn't get my head togehther. So when I got my pocket Kings I was oblivious to everything else. I'm not saying that I might fold here but if I for once thought about who was the shoving opponent, I might at least consider it for a sec. Mr mendez is a tight and smart player, he wouldn't do that move with a weak hand. Anyway I called and:

So bye bye Big Bang, 132nd, no bankroll this time. By the way, congratulations to mr mendez who finished 3rd for a great reward.

I passed on the turbo, didn't even have the chance to cheer friends as chat is limited to already bought-in players, Saturday was not a good day.

Well, so much for hopes, sometimes we expect one thing and it goes the other way round. I mean I played NLHE/PLO mixed as a first ever and lasted 7,5 hours making it to 3rd. Absolutely unexpected.

Anyway, one more event tonight at midnight plus the final tomorrow, still some pokering to do at the high levels before going back to freerolls.

Lots of luck to all PSOers
