Leaks, Busts and Bursts

By: PsychoVas @ 11:20 (EST) / 335 / Comment ( 5 )

Hello there to anybody that'll bother to read.

First ten days of February and according to the months name I seem to have been able to purge some blots and stains in my game.

As you might already guessed I'm referring to my semi-tilt condition that lead to gambling instead of playing poker. Well I tried really hard to stay true to my commitments for this month and it already paid out. Three times I finished in the money:

1)Dear PsychoVas,

You finished the tournament in 46th place. A USD 0.08 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

Congratulations!

Thank you for participating.

2)Dear PsychoVas,

You finished the tournament in 41st place. A USD 0.09 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

Congratulations!

Thank you for participating.

3)Dear PsychoVas,

You finished the tournament in 51st place. A USD 0.08 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

Congratulations!

Thank you for participating.

I know that the earnings are just peanuts in comparison to even a micro stakes cash table, but it is in my goals. It is something out of nothing.

And finally:

Dear PsychoVas,

You finished the tournament in 9th place. A USD 0.06 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

Yes people, I made it to a final table at PSO Open Skill League. Survived "bingo night" and kept going. First time and really proud of myself. 9th out of 10.000 is quite something, right? I have to admit though that it was rather hard and physically exausting. Five hours of concentration is too much for your old Psycho pal.

I don't know if I can make the effort again. Right now I'll be very happy if I achieve the Big Bang requirement. Not as easy as it might seem. I mean after the final table I tried some more OSL's and I busted way above 400 or 4.000 for that matter.

Now to the juicy part. I managed to keep my gambling semi-tilt to a minimum and guess what?

I discovered other leaks!!!!

Yes, I do have a tendency to get eager and impatient, especially after a good run like the one of last week. Does it ever end? NO!!!! I mean perfection in poker is a goal, not a condition. That's part of it's charm anyway. I am rather ambivolent about my new discoveries though. Do I keep trying, or do I give it a rest and just play at my low level for fun? Well I guess I'll keep trying, more fun in that than resting my case. Ok, I'm not Hercules to cut off every new head of the Hydra that pops out, but I can be a reasonably good plumber and fix leak after leak, one step at a time. (The word "Hydra" reffers to water anyway, but it's a long story to explain the myth.)

Well, people, that's all for now, the remaining February days are coming, so I'll try to keep my focus on my new leaks as much as on the old ones and I really hope that at the end of the month I'll be able to brag about having busted some leaks, bursted some bubbles and be still on the track to my goals.

"I'll get my kicks (even on my butt) in route 666" ("This is the road to Hell", but that's another song.)

So long and lots of luck on the tables.
