Razzys

Just new at the poker school, and I am earnestly committed to learning more about the game and bettering my skills. I can get ino a bit of a fluster, when trying to calculate all of the odds when you are at a table with 7 players sitting out, it is just way to fast.

PSO in my Nutshell

Each month we all start fresh with 1500 points. There is a box at the top of the
PSO home page League go there and insert your name in box to find your current
score. Press the leaderboard to see the current scores of all players.
This also shows what they payouts are at the end of the month.
WhiteStar Players are paid out less, Active players are cash players who have
acccumulated 20 VPP's in the prior month.
They receive a much higher payout. We all want the higher payout!!!

More about VPP's, don't worry, they are easy to accumulate if you have the patience to
play tight and put in some time at the .01/02 cent holdem ring games.
Find a table with large average pots, join in and plan to sit in for at least 150 hands.
Play tight as all heck, and plan on leaving the table with your original cash plus maybe
.50 to a $1 more.
You are there to get the VPP's that are awarded to you from the rake off the table.

6 bouts of this should get you the 20 VPP's
To find out how many VPP's you have accumulated Go to Main Lobby
Cashier Right hand side bar Vip Status and it says how many you have
collected in the current month.

Each tournament we play, we get points added on for good finishes/
or points taken off for going out too early in the tournament.

There are 6 tourney a day x the number of days in a month = up to 186 a month.
Comparing the 186 tournaments to the equivalent of 1 hand in the real tournament;
the one that ends on the last day of the month with our final scores.
(When reaching a high score, you can plummet with a few early outs because
the penalties imposed thru the throttle handicapping in place for scores)

Starting out score of 1500 will = minimal positive points at 30% of field remaining.

Aim at 25% of field remaining, and better to aim at 20% of field remaining.

The top scores 1850 and up need to be in the last 20% for a minimal
but positive increase.

Handicapping Throttles
The throttles start at 1770 and increase in increments of 20 up to 1870.

.......Approximate %'s......and..........Approximate Points for Finishes
Score ........... % of field ...........ITM Points.........................FTPoints
1770 ............... 25%.......................27...................... .........
1790 ............... 25%.......................23...................... ........ 26 to 37.
1810 ............... 25%.......................21...................... ........22 for 9th place
1830 ............... 25%.......................19...................... ........21 for 5th place
1850 ............... 20%.......................18...................... .........16 for 9th
1870 .......... .... 20%.......................10...................... .........15.. to...22.

variances # of players in tourney and quality of players in field and
your score that you start with in each tournament.

A lot of players that have plenty of chips to make the money let them selves get sucked
into a large pot trying for the pennys, and get knocked out of the tourney.
lol stack managment is a must when we R within 75-100 of placing In The Money.
Calculate 20% of field and try not to go out before then, on anything less than
a premium hand, once you hit the score of 1830.

But in the same token someone with these higher scores also gets a larger
negative point assigned to them for finishing early in tourneys.

Tightening up when your score is high is essential if you want to finish in the payouts at the end of the month.

There are also graphs on this in the forum,

STACK MANAGEMENT IS A MUST WHEN WE ARE WITHIN 77-100 OF REACHING THE PENNY
(IN THE MONEY = HIGHER SCORE) IT IS NOT THE PENNY BUT THE SCORE THAT WILL TRANSLATE INTO DOLLARS
AT THE END OF THE MONTH.

Good luck this month Razzys , Jarhead8286, and all others that contribute with further info for new players in the pso.
