So I figured I would take a stab at the World Cup events for my region. I am sorry to say I finished 2nd in the qualifier due to a few bad folds and the cards going very cold at the end for me. I was patient and waited out my spots and was short stack when it came down to the end. I was able to take a few big bites out of some big stacks and work my way up to fourth place...still short...and thats where it got interesting. I was lucky enough to get some good cards and I took a big chunk of chips off of the second place player and third place player in one hand crippling the third place guy and he went out in the next few hands leaving me in third place with a competitive stack. I chipped up to second and the other two players went back and forth so i did the smart thing and let them fight until one of them was knocked out. Thats when my cards just stopped coming. I had one last good hand and i was betting and betting and then i was pushed on and out of fear and emotion I folded what I think may have been the best hand. I then was blinded and grinded out to the end and I gotta say I truly wasn't prepared yet for the heads up fight for the win. I am disappointed that i did not take the win but I am very pleased with my over all performance in the tournament. I am left thinking though "what if i called that push" i mean.. i lost anyway so would that have changed it any.. would that have been the winning play..was that the chance i had and let pass. Anyway as a poker player i must get over it, move on, learn, and get better! And believe me, I plan to!! I have to say without some of the courses, encouragement and Advice from other players, and the practice time I have been putting in, I don't think I would have even made it that far. I just wish there was another chance to represent my region... UNTIL NEXT YEAR!! I'll be back and bet on me being a ton better!! Thanks PSO and Thanks Daniel. You are my favorite player and i have been reading your books along with studying and practicing here at the PSO. I just hope one day I can be a success story that everyone gets too see on here. I have really never won anything big. I don't have much and I am currently struggling with housing issues and supporting my son. I am grateful for the few things I do have and I am very grateful for poker and the competition involved in the school. It has given me an escape from my hardship and my problems. It makes me feel better and feel like I can be good at something again. I am gonna do what it takes to become a success at the game and hopefully one day play at the tables with you and some of the best players on the planet. It is my dream...And I intend to fight for it!! You will see my screen name in the future.. Thanks again PSO!!
