April - Review

By: Schnech @ 09:30 (EDT) / 538 / Comment ( 4 )

A little late, but here is my April revision.

Actually it was a very up and down month. I started using Pokertrack as a HUD and for tracking my game.

Here is what my graph looks like:

As you can see, it was a pretty rough month. The good thing I got out of this: I had no loss at the end of the month. :) But this graph is a pretty usual one, when you going for shots at a certain limit. The variance at 6max cash games are pretty high. The only thing you have to learn is how to cope with those swings. I usually drop out of the game and get back the next day. It is hard, because you always have to admit, that you had a losing session. But in fact it helps you to get your mind of these bad session and you can start over and make good decisions again.

What me helped most is, that I put me in daily goal situations. I always said: „Ok, today I want to quit a session 30$ in positive or at worst in the negative.“ If I achieve this in 15 minutes it’s great, but I will also quit the session for then. Maybe I reset my goal and come back later. But these daily goals really have you focussed for the whole session and you don’t get bored or over excited.

In the next few posts I will definitely give you more insights into my game. I also sent over a session to xflixx (Thanks again Felix) and he will do a review session for PSO. I’m really looking forward to that. I will also focus on more detailed spots as 3betting and when to fold and stuff like that. If you guys have any specific topics in mind, please let me know.

P.S.: May started pretty well. Bankroll is at over 700$ now and I’m close to transitioning to 20NL. I will keep you in the loop.
