Day 20 & 21: Why make a final a lottery?

By: Tizmouk @ 16:30 (EST) / 2 / Comment ( 0 )

Okay so i was all excited to have qualified for the 20k freeroll final. I came in the top 99 out of 6000 to get there so its safe to say most of the players in the final should know what they were doing. I was really looking forward to haveing a nice structure and a good game of poker, just like a final should. However pokerstars decided they would make this game a turbo where the blinds increased every 5 minutes, and with people wasting time it was practically blinds up every 2 hands!

This meant if u dnt catch cards then u cant win... theres no skill involved except knowing when to go all in or not. Out of 58 hands all isaw was AK where everyone folded, AQ which lost and KJ which lost! no pocket pairs no medium aces!!! I managed to survive on scraps to steal blinds but my KJ raise on the button all in was met by the big blinds JJ.

Now i wouldnt normally complain, turbos are there for quick games and are fun to play when you dnt have much time. But i had played for hours in a normal structured MTT to qualify , why change this all of a sudden. If anything the qualifiers should be turbos to get through the vast number of players!!! So frustrating, this was a real opportunity for me to make a boost in my bankroll and instead i didnt cash because pokerstars would prefer to make it a lottery! thanks a bunch!

Anyway here are my results after my rant is over

So the old SNG are not being too kind at the moment and i have seen my bankroll slide all week! It is now the start of a new week so lets hope it ends on a better note than this one! 22days with a profit of 91c is not looking good at the moment! the only reason my bankroll is increasing is because of my bankroll booster of $20 every two weeks! One thing is i am %10 through making my bonus and my VIP stellar award so when these come through that will be $30 of nice profit.

Daily Loss/Profit:            -$2.38                                                              Total loss/profit:         +$0.91
