limit vs N/L testing software and apps

By: Truth0406 @ 23:03 (EST) / 335 / Comment ( 1 )

For those of you who have read my blog, you saw I am starting with Limit as opposed to N/L.  I have much more experience at N/L but enough I believe with limit, well I know,.. enough experience to win at these stakes consistently.  It is strange though, as mentioned I had been openeing the 10/20 cent limit tables.  Many of the fish who were making terrible mistakes, playing terrible hands limping strong hands in all positions etc. had all of a sudden been playing much better.  Strange indeed.  Table selection is so important in any game, I figured I would do some rsearch of my own by tagging loose passive players with terrible hand sleection as well as see how the games played at these stakes, and how best to exploit it.  I was and am still hesitant to get a table tracker for one main reason.  If a lot of people/regs have the same software, and you do not get on the waiting list for a few fish at a table right away, by the time you end up at the table you are now playing probably and even tougher table than if you just joined a table on your own.

The plan is still to play limit exlcusively for at least the 1st week or 2.  I will be purhasing HM2, as well as using the free trials of limit leakbuster after 1 week of full time play.  After week 2, hopefully plugging any leaks I have in my limit game quickly, I will then use free trial of table selector in  week 3, then 1 more week of play to round out the 1st 4 weeks, and I will show my week by week results, and offer my opinions on the various software and apps and how helpfull/effective they are.  3 more days!!!

Apps I plan on trying are:

HM2 purchasing license $59.99 micro stakes(up t 1/2 FXD LIMIT and 10/25 cent N/L)

* you can upgrade to the "pro version" retails for $99.99 at any time which includes all stakes for holdem, limit and N/L they also offer an omaha version and holdem omaha combo.

leakbuster limit and N/L -this is super extensive, and saves a ton of time as opposed to doing your own hand reviews.

Table Ninja-lots of cool features to help with multi tabling(I may not use this right away as I plan on only playing 4 tables at a time so I can focus on player tendencies/reads etc.

table scanner(local scan pro)-scans for easiest tables, 1 cool feature is you can scan multiple sites(although I only play on stars) and it tells you players vpip, money won pfr% so you can decide easily who you want to play with

Note caddy-really cool software here, takes detailed extensive notes, and purges old notes as the players style tendencies change over time.  We've all made notes on a player and then seen that player again 3 months later and the notes may no longer be relevant.

All of these re apps you can easily find in the HM2 website.  If you go to FAQ area you can watch videos on how to install and properly use/navigate everything HM2 has to offer.  I spent 2 days watching the HM2 videos.  They are exptensive and almost overwhelming, but be a professional and DO IT! or be average and skim it, up to you.
