About me

Hey everyone.

I am a 31 year old father of 1 and I have been playing PLO now for 1.5 years.

I started grinding euro sites from a $10 deposit at PLO2 and worked hard to finally reach PLO100 and 200 earlier this year. During this time I had been battling my opponents, my illness and my alcohol dependency.  At the end of March I lost my battle with alcoholism, went on a bender, went BUSTO and almost lost my life.

Since then I have been through many sessions of councelling, have attended many sessions of AA, I have completely changed my lifestyle and I am both mentally and physically a stronger person than I have ever felt.

Despite this though I am still unable to work due to the severity of my physical illnesses: Lupus Overlap Syndrome, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease and Interstitial Lung Disease. Poker has been of great support to me and I plan on turning my passion into a proffession.

As of today I have regrinded my way back out of the pits and now sit with a good bankroll for PLO25. I have decided to leave eurosites and play on Stars because:

- I love playing here and I absolutely love the brand. PokerStars have shown themselves time and time again to be a cut above the rest and are an example to the poker industry and businesses worldwide and if anyone is going to get my rake it should be them.

- The software is excellent which means I can put in more hands/ hour and can tolerate longer sessions

- The lowest rake for PLO combined with their VIP system makes them as competetive as  leading eurosites with good rb deals.

- Volume of players. I wake up and get ready for the day knowing that I can start my sessions promptly at 9am.

All good as far as I'm concerned.

My goal is to make platinum this year. Make SuperNova next year and SuperNova elite the year after.

My bankroll stands at $1089

Anything over $1200 at the end of the month I withdraw until the end of October at which time I will build for 5 months. At the end of those 5 months myself and my partner will see where we are financially. If we need a few extra $$$ then I will withdraw for a few more months and proceed building as usual.

At the moment there is a lot of talk among the forums that rake is too high and that the games at micro's are unbeatable. I would like to show those that are new and are beginners that it is possible. It just takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Poker is not an easy game.

So I think I'll leave it there for now. I will update daily as I can.

Good luck to you all.

I hope you enjoy reading about my journey.
