Allow Me To Introduce Myself...

Greetings to all

As this is my first post a brief introduction is in order…My name is Amanda ‘Foxy’ Fox. I have lived in a small town in Sydney, Australia all my life and spend my days being a university student, where I am finishing of my honours degree in media & cultural studies.

I was first introduced to the big bad world of poker by my boyfriend, whom when we first started dating dragged me around to various live games, tournaments and casino’s. At first I loathed the game that seemed to entice my boyfriend’s attention more than myself; out of fierce jealously alone I decided to learn the game of poker. It was then I realised the reason why my boyfriend played the game so much…it was just good old fun.

With working, studying and just generally being a lazy generation Y lazy youth I have not been able to play as much as I would like over the last several years, meaning not at all. Then during a lonely philosophical ponderous night the thought occurred to me I should return to that once beloved game of poker. I did have several issues however… I have never really played with serious money, tournaments or live games. The most serious poker game I had played was at a friend’s place - I won 2 chocolates and some lollies. Also, the rest of my knowledge was simply based on watching my boyfriend play in tournaments and I am positive that the Poker School will probably be much more helpful to a rusty beginner player like me then staring at the back of my boyfriends head for five hours while he plays his tournaments. Which thus leads me here writing this blog, focusing all my energy on being a better poker player and wondering if this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship…

Of course it is. :-P
