Go KidPoker

OK... Some consider him just to be another Pro Poker Player but Daniel Negranu is without a doubt the premier Poker Player of our generation.

Earlier Generation had Stu Ungar for youngster and Doyle Brunson for the Wise Old Timer... but our Generation, KidPoker is the nuts!

I am refreshed to see that the majority of people who voted in the Mission 7 did so with his name as their choice (I think SpaceGravy was in there a few times too)

Sure, Daniel has not seen a decent result in the Main Event but you just look at the other games he plays, all his Cash Game play and various different WPT/EPT etc wins.

Phil Helmuth = Most Bracelets

Antonio Esfandiari = Most Tournament Cash

Phil Ivey = Acredited with being the #1 Cash Game Player

Where does Daniel Negranu fit into all of that?

Well he does well in Poker... he is a millionaire... he is a really nice guy... (never met him but not seen him get grumpy or mad at anyone in all his hours of televised action)

But above all of that... he is the King of Tells.

Not that he has a lot but that he can read people very very well.

What would I do if I met Daniel Negranu at a real life table (not an online one, of course)?

I would just play like any other player. No asking for autographs or making crazy plays to try and out-play him. Just solid poker as I would anyone else.

I have seen Daniel Negranu talk his way into peoples heads, he gets them to laydown the best hand just because he is really good at putting people on tilt.

There would be no need for me to play into that... As much as people who can spot tells love to take advantage of them, typically the strongest tells Pro's get (and anyone really) is by how people interact with them.

If Daniel says "I know you have me beat with Aces... i think i am going to fold" - he isnt saying that just to give good commentary, he wants to see if you hand flinches when he says he will fold, he wants you to give something away...

So I would play him just like anyone else... If i get to bluff him, great... would I show the bluff? pffftt no... the only people that would need to know that I outplayed the great KidPoker would be me.. and me!

Showing a bluff only serves to setup some kind of play down the line or try and put someone on tilt and I am quite confident in saying that I think Daniel is beyond such stupid reactionary gameplay.

So overall... love the guy, very fun to watch on TV and wish one day I could see him play live or better still play at the same table as him!
