About a bhoy...

Been playing this game about a year and a half and this is my story
Send PM

Well, I havent blogged in a little while, so I guess it is time for an update on how I am down.

My last few blogs lamented my cash game play while boasting about my tournament winnings for the year (modest though they were they were good for me). So this blog shows how things can change.

I've put together  a nice run of sessions in cash and turned a $40 profit since I last had a losing session. This is hand as it is keeping my head above water when my tournament game is floundering.

It feels like I havent cashed a tournament in months although I know it is a lot less time than that. I'm having problems dealing with the variance involved in tournaments. Getting very frustrated with calls and shoves that I make where I am almost always being looked up by players with better hands. The last time I remember getting it in well was with KK when when the 'person' called with his flush draw and hit. Yeah, I know I should be glad I got it in ahead, but it still sucked. I then went out of that tournament a hand or two later when someone called with A4o and beat my pocket 6's. So ahead again but beaten.

I have no idea what I am trying to achieve with my tournament play.

I float from $2.20 Sunday Storm satellites, to $0.25c 45 mans, to $1 45 mans, to $1.50 6 max SnG's to playing in The Big/Hot MTT's with absolutely no idea of what my objective is. Sure, I want to win, but this isnt a grind of these tournaments its just pointlessly hitting the register button a lot of the time.

I need to find focus, to find a challenge, and I need to improve my game a lot.

I have a ticket for the Sunday Million in my account. I quite laughably dream of doing well in that and turning some sort of profit and even winning it. We have dreams, and its nice to have them, but given that I tend to finish second in Heads-Up SnG's too (Just another variation I play in my aimless meandering) I think the only way I will make a final table is if I buy all the necessary tools and literally build a final table.

So, if you have read all this self-pitying spiel, thank you and I apologise.

To those who gave up reading - wise choice.
