My first casino trip

Destiny?

For the past 3 years now I've been fascinated with texas hold-em poker, up until 3 months ago I only played online on the pokerstars.net website. Three months ago I was having some mental troubles and decided to travel to the local casino to escape(probably not the best place to go when your trying to unwind but that's beside the point). I took $40 in and immediatley sat down at the blackjack table losing $20 within the first 5 minutes I was there. I decided to hold on to what I had left, grabbing a drink from the pop machine and walked around. In the midst of my journey I noticed the casino (Diamond Joe Casino in Northwood Iowa) had a poker room. I've never played casino poker before so I asked the guy at the counter how much the buy-in was and was told $40(freaking blackjack!!!!!). Right then I decided I was getting into that room that night no matter what. I walked outside the casino, lit up a cigarette and called my brother to inform him of my plan. After the conversation was over I went over to the blackjack table and started trying to win. Of course I lose $15 with-in the first 10 minutes but on the last hand I get dealt two aces(not having any money to split them with my spirts dropped) this was until a woman sitting next to me lent me $5 to split. I hit 21 on both of them and won. I gave her back the $5 and was down $5 towards my $40 goal. I played one hand and won $10 so i now had $45, off to the poker room. I was sit down in the back of the room(heart racing), it was on. I did feel bad, one of the guys next to me had been drinking so he kept raising every hand so eventually I called him and took a good chunk of his money. The 7th hand I was dealt pocket 10's, so I raised to $7(1-2 blinds) 8 others called and the flop came 10-4-10(HOLY CRAP!!!!!!) I tried so hard not to smile, luckily for me someone raised up to $25 so I called and let the hand unfold. When the river card came up there was $200 in the pot, after everyone checked I eagerly flipped my hand over revealing the four of a kind and sat back as the last person in the hand went off on himself and stormed away. I only played 10 more hands before I left, my destiny had been fulfilled.
