The Big Bang is Back!

So great to get the e-mail earlier this morning knowing that the Big Bang Main Event is back and that I was able to get a ticket for it. So thank you to the team at PokerSchoolOnline for it. I'm already looking forward to next Saturday!

It's a great opportunity for a lot of the entrants to have a chance to signficantly increase their bankroll. It also gives someone the nudge to either move up a level because their bankroll requirements now allow for it or cashout a nice chunk of change if you can get through the field and bink the tourney.

Having played the tournament a couple of times, I thoroughly enjoyed the format and how much people took the tournament seriously even though it was still technically a freeroll. I guess players just find it's much more realistic to win the tournament when it's less than 1000 players playing. And of course, the prizepool is quite high for a freeroll.

When I first started playing poker online, I was under the legal age limit and didn't have a credit card, so I couldn't play for real money. It seemed foolish because I had been playing poker for money since I was 12-13 years old, but I couldn't do it online.

Anyways, I was a freeroll player for a while, so I know all about the pitfalls of it. In fact, I think we've all been there at some point when we first started playing poker online where we tried out playing a couple of freeroll tournaments and found out very quickly how poor the play was because of how little the players seemed to care.

I'm sorry, but unless it's the hand of the tournament from Casino Royale where every player legitimately believes that they have the winning hand, there's no reason why there should be a full table going all-in. At least we can have comfort knowing that no 7 way all-ins will be happening next Saturday.

So, hopefully I can have a nice run. Looking forward to it for sure.

Good luck at the tables!
