I knocked out a PSO Team Member in the SOP

By: dawhiteninja @ 15:36 (EDT) / 405 / Comment ( 0 )

So here I am, just sat down in my 2nd SOP event after a 3rd place finish in my first and a player informs me that there is 25pts up for grabs if you knock out a pro.

Several hours pass and all the pros get knocked out... all but one who comes and sits immediately to my left. Now this is actually a decent place for him to come and sit as it offers blind V blind battles where I have a good chance of getting it in. Best of all he only had 10bigs!

The pro soon sucked out and in his own words "Asked Pokerstars for that one". He is now sitting on 21bigs I think from memory.

(Apologies, the hand replayer isn't working I keep getting this message:

2 hands later, it folds to me in the CO. I open KQo, and he shoves and it folds round.

Now...................  This is how I see it:

Mathematically, the same situation button V big blind it's profitable to call by about +2bigs I think (chip EV wise), given a standard 20big blind shoving range.

From this position slightly tougher call, I'll either look like a genius or a total bounty hunting freak.

BUT as with all poker decisions it's based ultimately on the man and your position in the tourny if you make the call and lose Vs. the chances of winning.

I knew that he knew that this was a good spot to shove. I'm guessing he didn't know that I had some clue as to what I'm doing so in most cases shipping here would only get calls from 5% of an open percentage of anywhere up to 40% of players ranges. But not the Ninja. With a $0.50 bounty and those all-important 25 leaderboard points up for grabs, I make the call as the pro turns over K6ss I look like a genius. The rail goes crazy when a 6 lands on the turn but the rivered Q breaks hearts of many and the chips get shipped to the Ninja!

Then I hear I get 100 bonus points for blogging about it. Result! Then I end up getting 3rd in the tourny! Even better result! All in all a good SOP event for me I'd say.

I'm now lying 8th or 6th in the leaderboard and with the extra 100 from this post that should put me top. Long may the run good continue and he's to hoping to pick up a virtual bracelet!!

Thanks for reading, sorry the HH replayer isn't working, I'll post the hand text below.

Peace out poker!
