First PSO Tourney

Well, I played in my first PSO League Tourney last night. I was out golfing, and got waxed by my buddy Murph. We played skins, and I won 6. Murph won the other 12, and DW was shut out. So, it could be worse. I could be DW! Because I got home late, I had to play in the 10 pm tourney. Needless to say, I was up late! I thought I did reasonably well, so I will look for my score update later today. I ended up in 102nd. I think there were 1233 that played that event, so again I thought that was pretty good. Here is the hand that knocked me out: I held AK, and with blinds at 400/800, I raise to 2400. I had only 6100 or so, and after thinking about shoving, I decided that it would be better to get someone to call. I also figured it might be easy to get someone else to fold if the flop was bland. I got two callers, which is good since I think I was well below average. Flop came down A 9 8 rainbow. Again, very good for me. I checked, and one player bet the min 800. Since I had only 3700 left, and the pot was over 8k, I had only one option. So I check/shoved all in. After a few seconds, the original better called, the other dude had already folded. He showed pocket 6's, and I thought I was good. After a 5 on the turn, and a 7 on the river I was asking myself, have I angered the Poker Gods? Or are they really Demons giggling hysterically??? Oh well, maybe I will try again tonight....
