My Poker Journey

Is it just me or is PSO getting tougher? 5 days left this month and I think I am around 285 in rank and 1785 in pts. Being stuck in the 1700s for over a week has been frustrating.

I actually had to start keeping track of my bust-out hands to help me feel better about my play. As a beginner player I am finding the hardest thing to accept is making the right call - getting my chips in as a big favorite and then losing to a bad river or sick flop.

This is not a bad beat blog so I wil not be ranting about losing with QQ to 33, AK lose to AJ, A-10 lose to A-8 and AK losing a threeway pot vs a 10-2 and 10-4. Still not sure how that last one happened but all I remeber is a flop of 2-2-4 and the rest is a blur.

Those 4 hands all happened over 2 days and were all bust-out hands that resulted in negative points - about 35 total. If a couple those hands holds up and I cash I could easily be looking at positive 50 points total - thats an 80 point swing and now I have 1860 pts and top 50 rank. It's frustrating but also good to know I am that close and I am made the right play in all those losses.

So I am learning to take the fact that I am getting it in with the best hand most times as a positive and if waiting for the odds to catch up for me.

So end of month goal for December is to make the top 98 for the month and get the $50, my bankroll stands at $31 and I plan to play more micro ring games next month.
If I get the $50 bucks from PSO my goal will be to get Silver Star status and double the $50 to $100 at the low micro tables.

Lesson learned - stay positive and just do your best to get it in with the best hand.
