WBCOOP Deep Stack FA Cup Saturday #1

By: fuzzmuff @ 10:08 (EST) / 340 / Comment ( 2 )

Start FA Cup day with the 11AM $1.10 MTT. As always in a $1, a lot of donking action early on, which I usually steer clear of, and unlike yesterday AK actually brings in some chips. End the first hour on 4k (blinds 50/100) and enter the noon $1.10 MTT.

Flop quad eights in the 11AM after min raising pf, and get called down to the river, which was nice, and then slow play AK in the big blind, catching the small blind’s K8 all in when TK7 flops. Then, after I flop a set of tens, I get re-raised by a maniac’s J3 spades looking for a flush, which he rivers. In the 12noon I try to river a flush with72 hearts from the sb, which of course I miss.

I get Kings in the big blind, in the 12noon. With the blinds 50/100 and facing an mp raise to 400 I shove my 2.1k to the middle and get called by his AJ clubs, which then flops a flush! Neither of my Kings is a club so I’m out, after an hour of trash. No justice. Meanwhile, after 2 hours in the 11AM, AK takes me up to 6.1k with blinds 150/300, thanks to the maniac, then AJ hit trips on the turn and I’m up to 8.6K.

Wigan score two goals in two minutes to go 2-0 up at Everton in the first FA Cup quarter final. Make that 3-0. Three goals in three minutes!

Missed out on flopping a full house, with A2 in the big blind, because I folded to a 4-bet. Same thing happened yesterday with A7. Should I play looser with my blinds? Feel free to comment if you’ve read this far.

I raise with A4 clubs from the cut off, and get called by the calling station in the big blind. I c-bet the T72 flop, he calls, I bet the K turn and he calls again, so I shut down on the river J, and he shows K8 to win. That leaves me very short now hanging on for the money, which I make.

Finished in 487th place for $1.52.
